6.7-magnitude quake hits PNG
Updated: 17:28, Thursday March 22, 2012

A 6.7-magnitude earthquake has struck Papua New Guinea, the US Geological Survey reports.
Seismologists said that while the Quake on Thursday was widely felt, it was too deep to cause much damage.
The quake hit some 62 kilometres from the Eastern Highlands provincial capital Goroka and 324km from the national capital Port Moresby at a depth of 105km.
'At over 100km deep it would not have caused any damage. No big dramas,' said GeoScience duty seismologist Dan Jack.
'It was felt in Port Moresby, but just a rumble.'

Well its now 23rd and 07:00AM GMT and nothing overnight so all is good

but I have learnt a lot about earthquakes over the last 3 days by looking at the
monitoring sites, so there you have it unless we get a really big one in the next
few hours as they say in the states Myth Busted
, and I am off to find a new
topic, back to the 2012 Olympics me thinks .......

Agreed, and agreed. The old adage stands firm:

"Be alert, not alarmed."

The fear-mongers are ONCE AGAIN wrong, while the ones who calmly predicted same-olsameol were right.

Well, keep predicting. You'll get lucky one of these days and then you can relive it like Al Bundy's game winning touchdown!
