The Drudge Report has released a newley passed Executive Order that may hint towards Martial Law in the US.

Drudge

Executive Order

This is a pretty lengthy order and I am still difesting all of it, but the basis seems to be an assessment of reginal resources and a mandate allowing government control and take over should DHLS deem it necessary under any circumstance that is deemed relevant by them.

Here are a few choice snippets.

Sec. 201. Priorities and Allocations Authorities. (a) The authority of the President conferred by section 101 of the Act, 50 U.S.C. App. 2071, to require acceptance and priority performance of contracts or orders (other than contracts of employment) to promote the national defense over performance of any other contracts or orders, and to allocate materials, services, and facilities as deemed necessary or appropriate to promote the national defense, is delegated to the following agency heads:

(1) the Secretary of Agriculture with respect to food resources, food resource facilities, livestock resources, veterinary resources, plant health resources, and the domestic distribution of farm equipment and commercial fertilizer;
(2) the Secretary of Energy with respect to all forms of energy;
(3) the Secretary of Health and Human Services with respect to health resources;
(4) the Secretary of Transportation with respect to all forms of civil transportation;
(5) the Secretary of Defense with respect to water resources; and (6) the Secretary of Commerce with respect to all other materials, services, and facilities, including construction materials.

Sec. 202. Determinations. Except as provided in section 201(e) of this order, the authority delegated by section 201 of this order may be used only to support programs that have been determined in writing as necessary or appropriate to promote the national defense:
(a) by the Secretary of Defense with respect to military production and construction, military assistance to foreign nations, military use of civil transportation, stockpiles managed by the Department of Defense, space, and directly related activities;
(b) by the Secretary of Energy with respect to energy production and construction, distribution and use, and directly related activities; and
(c) by the Secretary of Homeland Security with respect to all other national defense programs, including civil defense and continuity of Government.

Could Drudge be on to something here or do you think this is just another case of sensationalized headlines?

The White House released this late Friday when all of the media was heading to the weekend in hopes that this would not be noticed too much.
Looks like Drudge is bringing it to the table for Monday morning. This needs to be discussed.

Yeah, that tends to be the MO when releasing new directives that have negative effects on the US populace. They release it on a friday and hope the weekend of drinking will fog it all over.

Indeed Drudge is on to 'something', that being promoting Drudge. He readily 'hints' at everything he can such that it appears to be antiObama.

IMO this Executive Order is just an update/consolidation of Executive Orders issued by Clinton, Reagan and Nixon. I believe the courts have ruled that you lack standing to challenge them until you have suffered damages from their implementation.

Ill or non defined national emergencies are always ominous.

While I wont disagree that Drudge is an anti-socialist news outlet, I think you are missing the point with this directive.

It places the defining of these situations clearly in the hands of Big Sis an DHLS. She now can decide that anything is an affront to peace and press the prez to declare Martial Law and then step in and procure all resources.

The order is in fact new as it was just released on Friday. Obama may not have penned it (Presidents rarely pen their EO's) but he damn sure approved it. Thats what an Executive Order is.

99% yes, but the new one contains one major difference

Three words in fact

(b) The Secretary of each agency delegated authority under subsection (a) of this section (resource departments) shall plan for and issue regulations to prioritize and allocate resources and establish standards and procedures by which the authority shall be used to promote the national defense, under both emergency and non-emergency conditions.

Your welcome. I think it is the small steps like this change and the other additions to this EO that creates a facade of freedom. We are only as free as they let us be.

They both say everything in this document applies to war and peacetime.

(b) Each agency head shall take appropriate action to ensure that critical components or critical technology items are available from reliable sources when needed to meet defense requirements during peacetime, graduated mobilization, and national emergency. "Appropriate action" may include restricting contract solicitations to reliable sources, restricting contract solicitations to domestic sources (pursuant to statutory authority), stockpiling critical components, and developing substitutes for critical components or critical technology items

As for martial law we have been operating under the emergency war powers act since the 30's in a perpetual state of bankruptcy which congress renews periodically. Lincoln destroyed the republic and gave us the corporate military bastardization of it all that we have today. He waged illegal war on the southern states and the Southern states, by virtue of their secession from the Union, and some state legislatures in the Northern bloc adjourned sine die, and thus, the original union was dissolved. Lincoln executed the first executive order on April 15, 1861, Executive Order 1, and the nation has been ruled by executive order ever since. A new congress was reconvened under the military authority and not by Constitutional Law, placing the American people under martial rule ever since the so called national emergency declared by Lincoln
