Reminds me of the days when things moved a little slower. Communities came together and helped each other out. When the community hall or the eagles club was the gathering place. When kids said yes sir and yes ma'am. When wearing trousers that fit and looking proper was important. When everyone worked hard, even kids. When everyone was proud of their country and our government still seemed to represent the will of it's people. When the news actually reported on the news instead of making it up.

Thanks OP for helping me reminisce for a moment,

Thanks for understanding. I should add he was my favourite western actor as a young boy, glued to the TV set.
He had bucketloads of style and charisma, and with a name like his (Marrion?) he couldn't be anything other than a manly man.

I'll see your John Wayne and raise you a Red Skelton.

I weep for our nation. It is no longer the Republic in which I was raised. TS has HTF.

I always liked this interpretation of the Pledge of Allegiance.
And what he said at the end, that two words have been added since he was a young boy...Under God...wouldnt it be a shame if this were considered a prayer and banned from schools now too............he hit the nail on the thumb on that one....
