Supermodel Elle Macpherson told shock jock Howard Stern Tuesday that she's pulling for Barack Obama to be reelected. "I’m living in London and I’m socialist," she told her host. "What do you expect?"

Does anyone else see the irony here?

That saying about opening your mouth and removing all doubt comes to mind.

what a clown, socialist indeed, yes, I would like her to experience true socialism and reduce her income to the average income in whatever country she is currently residing in- also, and I have no idea because I have no interest in her other than happening upon this thread, has she ever availed of private education for offspring, private health care, travelled first class, employed underlings on lower wages etc etc

Hideous

part 2

capitalism is great for the 1%. for the rest of us, a job, healthcare and a college education for our kids would be better than what the average american has.

Nothing. If you're upfront about it. Quite a bit if you're elected president and before your first term is even up the dumbest blonde can identify you as a socialist. My problem is with honesty.

Nothing is wrong with being a socialist, its forcing others to become one against their will that is wrong.

please enlighten me how the executive branch of the federal gov't can change our economic system to a socialist model, complete with 60% taxes and free college education, and state ownership of industry and property

without congressional approval ?

I would think it is a 1,000 step process, it would be extremely complicated and take decades

rush doesn't mention that part, does he ?

lol

Maybe the dumbest blonde is wrong? Did you think of that? You believe what the dumbest blonde believes...
Just because a socialist supports the president, doesn't mean that makes him a socialist...
The KKK is going to support whoever runs against Obama. Does that make that person(Romney most likely) a member of the KKK?

on a side note, who gives a # what some socialist in Britain thinks of Obama?

I was initially pointing out a supermodel's hypocrisy, but to your point, actually quite a bit can be done from where he's sitting. Through backroom deals, executive orders, camouflaged policy and just being the POTUS comes with a little power doesn't it? I mean look at how much is done without congressional approval as it is.

I find myself agreeing with many socialistic ideas, not pseudo socialism, but there's a way to go about it and if the majority of people in this country decide to make it official, so be it.

Let's see, Obama is a multimillionaire just like the other elites in Congress....Obama is a puppet of TPTB. These people don't want socialism...then they'd have to give up their wealth.

I don't see the irony. Some of you have this belief that socialists can't be successful, if they are, then they're really just capitalists.

We socialists don't see it that way. We see ourselves as responsible human beings who want to help our friends and neighbors through mutual work for mutual benefits.

It's easy to be socialist when you are extremely wealthy and have tons of money. What a bunch of frauds. They think they can give some little thing to charity or protest in Darfur and voila they are the caretakers of the world.
