Once again, he NEVER said legalize drugs. He said to get the Federal Government out of the issue, "End the War on Drugs", and let STATES deside what course to take, as each seems fit. As unpopular as it may be, that is how the Country was designed to operate.

Though I support the 10th amendment, there are certain laws that we, as a society, should make universal. Should we allow the states to decide whether murder is illegal? Should the states be allowed to decide whether free speech is allowed?

And after reading the posters reply, I didn't see them call you any names? Please highlight those for me.

I meant to say “insults” not “name calling.” Edited to correct!

Oh look, Obama, Gingrich, and Santorum are in debt, everyone except Ron Paul and Mitt Romney. Your article says Ron Paul spent more than they took in for February, does that mean the campaign is in debt or flatbroke? NO! He prolly spent extra for super tuesday. Ron Paul supporters won't let him go in debt, trust me. I'd seriously take a bullet for him.

Go take your cynicism somewhere else ffs.

Id just like to say in relation to the drug war. Holland didnt have all these problems after it legalised drugs. So I dont see why the USA dosnt try this option. As for the media, its all controlled and who ever controls it has a WMD = Weapon of Mass Distraction, at their disposal. It seems to work hand in hand with the Govt.
Big brother is watching.

As a RP supporter from the beginning, I can honestly say it was over before it started. The joke, however, is the direction in which our nation is headed. The joke is on the American People and all our politicians are laughing.

I’m simply talking about the legality of drugs. In Texas, we have Mexican gangs here such as MS13 who are here because of the illegal drug trade and these gangs are rapidly spreading across the country. Gangs don’t just bring drugs, they also bring violence. Drugs are a big business that benefits organized crime and legalizing drugs will only increase this problem. The argument that by legalizing drugs the organized crime, gangs and violence that accompany them will somehow disappear is ridiculous and dangerous. As long as there is money to be made they will be here, and the more people on LEGAL drugs means the more business they'll have. RP will simply be opening up new markets for them because they will deliver the drugs cheaper (tax free) than the 'legal' dealers.

They are only profitable to these gangs because they're illegal. The gangs set the price. They don't pay taxes. They don't regulate or inspect it either. They have no rules. Money is power & they can grow money in their backyard.

You think they would smuggle stuff over the border if you can find superior product legally for 1/2 the price or less? Lol, no, they wont. I could go into this deeper but I don't want to break forum rules :\

I think that seabag is badly misinformed when it comes to drug legalization.

While gangs will never disappear, legalization WILL take a bite out of their illegal business.

It will also mean less money for police departments that record huge busts of drugs, often through illegal means.

This is a pretty naive view of a man just as flawed as his followers.

I'm not sure whether you're the sheep or anti-sheep here, since you follow Ron Paul like a lamb to the slaughter.

Seabag is angry Ron Paul is 100% right on foreign policy and that RP has the support of politically aware soldiers and veterans as well as established intelligence/military officers.

Ron Paul is doing well for somebody that has been de-frauded in almost every single state thus far.

And he is still winning the delegates in county conventions.

A presidential campaign that is funded by the people cannot last forever, especially when they can't PRINT the money they want to donate to Ron Paul because it is illegal for them but not for the FED.

Where is your common sense?

Yes. Anyone with any understanding of "money people" should know that they portion out their dealings so that all of their eggs are not in one basket. None of these men will owe anything after a short time, but that does not mean that they will judge it expedient to continue incurring more bills.

I do agree with the assessment that Santorum and Gingrich are generally blocking Paul, but recent news headlines seem to indicate that "critical mass" is either nearing or has just recently passed regarding "waking up the people." Not every person needs to agree about the corruption in politics so long as enough people are willing to react to it. Unfortunately, individuals in our culture are not very wise and this may make the reaction violent/non-productive. Rooting a revolution in physical violence will only serve to grow another imperial tree.

We must advocate peaceful and honest growth despite those who wish to ignore the $16,000,000,000,000 (is that enough zeros?) debt and imbalanced/increasingly impotent power control structure and despite those who might bring about violence in the name of peace.

Hate yourself before you hate others.
And, we must accept the burden of the debt we have incurred.
Owing roughly $180,000, as a new taxpayer, is a burden I can barely grasp (as in: Is this REALLY happening?!).
Business as usual is simply digging down to escape a pit, worsening our already grave situation, and violence will lead to us surely being buried in the burial plot our people/leaders have dug.

Thanks Pipebomb! Michael Ellner has a pretty diverse background. I thought that quote as appropriate for the theme at ATS. The other half of the sig, "Rise! Rebel! Resist!" is a song from the band Otep, from the album Smash the Control Machine. I also thought it themed well with ATS.

A joke candidate amongst shylocks and mongrels, who have and will again do everything they can to liberate your tax dollars, and dismantle what is left of america.
Is that why he is a joke?, because he isn't either of the other two?.

legalisation will take a bigger bite out of the private prison industry which is why it will never happen.

Before making such a harsh condemnation of another, please be more accurate with your observation and resulting conduct. He clearly said "post," not "user." And his general message is true. So many people are willing to squeal like pigs, but are not willing to do something gentlemanly and realistic. The only things that make Dr. Paul's ideas unrealistic are the commoners' unwillingness to accept the truth that our system's socialistic diversions have failed, and the commoners' unwillingness to sacrifice for healthy growth. (Capitalism is law where there is no law, so why try to hide harsh reality behind false goodness? Socialism is very noble, but must come through an educated citizen base, otherwise, while conduct may appear to be charitable, it is not.)

If you grow without sacrifice, it is cancer (chaos). If you restrain what is good, it is auto-immune disease (pride).

The system is not leading to failure, our economic charade and social discord have led us across that barrier already.

If we do not begin to pick up the pieces, we will be doubly burdened by other forms of decay eating away at what has already begun to fall apart. We need "real" men to stand up. Instead, most young men waste themselves.

The empire has fallen in on itself and we will suffer the consequences for many generations yet. It would have been better for the union to split instead of go to war. We have not yet recovered from the internal trauma of our civil war and it's poison is just settling in to our organs.

That's where you're wrong. What in the world makes you think 'legal' dealers will provide it for less??

Do you have any earthly idea what percentage of the price of a pack of cigarettes or gallon of gas is tax? By the time the state and fed tax the crap out of it it will be much more expensive. Besides, do you really think the cartels are just going to close up shop?

That still makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

I left that bit off because it is probably the most ignorant part and I was doing you a favor.
The tax would not make the drug more expensive. There will be a tax, but the drug would be exponentially cheaper so it would not matter.

You think a couple dollars in tax is going to make legally grown, massively abundant drugs more expensive than smaller harvests that run the risk of being busted and go through several price hikes as the move along the chain to the consumer? NO WAY.

Also, even if they were the same price, people would go to safe legal routes over dealing with murderous gangs.
You still need to think about things. A LOT. You are way off on all this.

OH man.. i gotta say, the more you reveal about yourself the more obvious it becomes why you barely scratch the surface on a topic before committing to an idea. You act and are vocal about something before you full understand it.

You always stop a step or two away from the real answer.
First to fight.. that explains it all. Shoot first ask questions later.
That is where blind foolishness and over patriotic personality get you.
