I don't know if its just me but lately i been getting the feeling that people are either too busy or not really bothered to stop and chat anymore..

I used to be able to hold long conversations that were interesting with people but nowadays i just sense that people are extremely indifferent and apathetic..

I don't know if anyone else has felt this..if its a repercussion of changes to our psyche of if i just been having a bad few months trying to socialize and meet people..

It would be nice to hear if anyone knows what i'm talking about..

yes actually, i used to be able to have long conversations with people.
now i dont even know how to start a conversation, actually its more of not wanting to start a conversation.

its probably because I've started talking to myself in my mind alot and i dont see the point in talking to other people.
its like, you do your own thing, i do mine and we can both exist.

also i've becomed very self-centered, not because i dont care about other people but because i dont see things being right or wrong anymore, its strange.

I converse with people that are close confidants and friends, besides that the rest seems like a chore and is usually done so out of a specific need/purpose.

On the other hand, I enjoy posting on here for some reason. Chit chat anyone?

Thank you and i appreciate your honesty.

I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum.. the more i see it the more i care.. the more want to reach out and connect with people.. it feels like the essence of humanity, love, friendship is just slipping away...

Me and a couple of guys actually tested this theory last week...

We are from Occupy Bournemouth (in England) and we were asked by the community to take action to stop the demolition of a Community Centre for Arts, we then squatted it, then cleaned the place up and re-opened it for the public.

Even though we have the support of many people we still thought it could be better, so we went on the street to talk to people about it...

Everyone we spoke to was the same, not a clue what we were on about and most of them looked busy and didnt have time to talk and had to go... really sad... but many of my friends that have not been involved with Occupy are getting involved in this which is a good thing, at least a few seem to care... but could be better.

I've noticed both ends of the spectrum lately. In myself, I've become more open, and start many awesome conversations with random strangers. In many others, I have noticed a retreat into self. It's weird, but I think with everything currently going on in the world, people handle it differently. Whether or not it has to do with external stimuli or not, I do not know. I will be more observant with my interactions with people this weekend. Thanks for bringing this up.

Its really hard to find the energy to have a conversation during times like these where people are working 3 jobs just to barely make it, or, if working only working one job, being forced to work a ZILLION hours a week on it.

You must not be in the current work-force.
Hard enough to even sleep any more not to mention having pleasant conversations.

I pretty much just give up. Everyday seems like hell.

Hoping the aliens will attack soon.

I think that's the only thing I'm looking forward too.

I love to chit or chat as long as are minds are open and the topics interesting and the conversation freewheeling.

I consider myself as much of a Renaissance man as one can be today. I read and study on a wide variety of topics.

I am not a specialist. I can put things together from a wide variety of fields and perceive truth and coming trends ahead of anyone I know. Advertisers call me an early adopter.

I have so much inside me I would like to let out, but few even close to my level or even having similar interests. I wonder why I ever bothered to educate myself.

Sherlock Holmes as portrayed by Robert Downey Jr would be a facinating fellow to chat with.

Star for you.

I feel that way most of the time. Just get on with the destruction of America, I'm bored with you Obama. Your secret handler's who run your teleprompters and earpiece and Blackberry already have enough in place to officially announce the Dictatorship of America.

I find myself disapointed at the kill count of wild postal rampages and think I could have gotten more and I've never shot a gun in my life. Sick as that is. But nobody cares or will care or can care.

When you are in survival mode, there is no time/energy left for anything else. See Maslow's" Hierarchy of Needs".

Come on aliens!! Where are you when we need you most?

once the pieces of life start falling into place and you see the world for what it is, theres not much else you do but mind your own as much as possible.
