What can save us?

This thread may start with a few jokes but it will ask a serious question so please bare with me.

According to this Narwhals will stop Cthulhu from eating us so we are good there.



According to this article Heavy Metal/Death Metal scares wolves so as long as the descendents of vikings have kick as Metal bands the All Father(Oden) should be safe from Fenris.

Okay so here is the serious question.

If 2012 is an end of the world thing what can save or protect us?
So many cultures have end of the world mythos some have loop holes to protect us.
Others like in Fenris a modern salvation has been found.

So instead of all the doom and gloom what can actually save us?

Free energy, respect for the life on the planet and compassion for our fellow man.
Those are the only things that can save us.

I know the athiests on ATS will eat up my post here but...Jesus Christ can save us. Otherwise, it's too late.

You may as well approach this "impending disaster" with a sence of humor.

If it does come about the only thing you can save will be your sanity.

If it does not happen your sanity will be more valuable than ever.

I chose to ignore such prospects which I can not effect.

At least I can go out with a smile on my face rather than an implanted frown.

But, either way I am still gone.

That's kinda how I'm approaching it.

If anything happens it's well out of my control.

Even if something can be done I'm pretty sure I'm dead last on the list of physicist and engineering students that will be tapped to save us.

There is something to be said for knowing how to take care of yourself and survive but other then that sit back and enjoy the ride.

I just wanted to know if there was any myths out there re end of the world that had loop holes or ways to save us.

If y'all want to find joke answers via memes like I did that works too.

What saves us is education to recognize hoaxes and to understand why they are hoaxes.

A nice dose of common sense, and a little critical thinking should do the trick. If people can't muster that up then I have heard that doing a backflip off a skyscraper before 12/21 is a pretty safe way to make sure 12/21 doesn't happen.
