Syria unrest: Turkish nationals urged to return home

www.bbc.co.uk

Turkey has urged its citizens in Syria to come home, saying developments there have led to "serious security risks".

The foreign ministry said in a statement that some consular services would be halted on 22 March.

Meanwhile PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan suggested a safe zone along the border, where refugee numbers have risen sharply in recent days.

The news comes as Syria marks the first anniversary of the uprising, which has left more than 8,000 people dead.

This is breaking news on BBC.I recall reading somewhere that Turkey was planning on military action via the Northern Syria border due to the numbers of Syrian refugees crossing there. Is the Turkish government telling their citizens to leave Syria just for precautionary and safety reasons? Appears so from this brief article, at least at this stage. Or is Turkey intending on launching military action against the Syrian regime?
