Greece: Attempted Overthrow/Assasination on PM Exposed

(Reuters) - A Greek prosecutor pressed charges of treason and trying to destabilize the country against unknown suspects on Wednesday over an alleged 2008 plot to overthrow the then-conservative prime minister, Costas Karamanlis.

Hey ATS, do we know any kind of people in the global community interested and capable of destabilizing countries through means of disinformation/propaganda, overthrowing popularly elected governments, and even murdering officials who pose a potential threat?

Court officials said the plan was hatched to thwart efforts by Karamanlis efforts to improve energy relations with Russia and included overthrowing and even killing the premier. It was not clear who was behind it.

"An investigative prosecutor will now try to locate the persons who devised and organized the plan," said a court official who requested anonymity.

The official said the charges were prompted by press reports about a Russian document revealing the plot and came after testimony from Greek secret service agents, police and Karamanlis' security guards.

Karamanlis, who lost elections to the socialists in 2009 in the wake of a series of financial and political scandals, had improved ties with Moscow and advanced plans for a major pipeline to bring Russian gas to western Europe.

Hmmm...where else have I heard of covert (and outright lies to) wars as a means of securing pipelines to transport energy resources? Nah couldn't be the same people......

Court officials said the prosecutor also concluded that some of the violence that erupted after the police shooting of a teenager in December 2008 was part of the plot aimed at destabilizing Greece.

The boy's killing and the weeks of violence that gripped the country shook Karamanlis' government and led to snap elections the following year.

Wow! Even going as far as to take advantage of a national tragedy to further ones agenda....OK This is definitely the same people! Anyone else seeing what I am seeing here, or am I just on the fringe as usual

There really does seem to be more and more coming out daily this week. I wonder how much it will take to before a wider audience starts to take notice. Thats said, I suppose it depends on how widely reported some of the stories will be covered.

I don't understand what you are saying? Are you saying the global mafia as we have come to see them (illuminati for lack of better suited words) do not really exist?

I just find to parallels between what we have given credit to being the illuminati, (bankers and such) or as I like to call them now the global mafia, such as the current foreign wars of the US (Iraq, Afghanistan) as well as the Arab Spring including Libya, to what has occurred in Greece according to this lead prosecutor, are more than just coincidence, it seems to be a very similar MO in my opinion....It seems to suite the tactics (overthrowing governments, and assassinating those who stand in their way) that we have seen be blatantly used so many times in our recent, and even older history.

Again I just seek a conversation about it, I don't claim to know the answer, I just have my opinion based on other things I have read about. Any new info, or even disagreement with what I say is more than welcome....

So any others have anything to add? This is quite an explosive story and revelation in my opinion.

But Greece has been playing a dangerous game for a long time - especially the last 10 years ( it's an incredibly strategic position - what's known as vital ground )
Well maybe not Greece but certainly 3 opposing factions
One allied to the west ( Europe/us/Israel )
Another to Russia and its cabal
And another to turkey/ME/north Africa ( which has some ties to the Russia cabal )

You make a very good point.

I do understand the strategic importance of Greece being at the center of the Euro/African/Mid East worlds. Also the hidden resources bound to be around that area of the Mediterranean not including the ones already being leeched out of the ground (or under the water).

My family is Greek, and my relatives back home in Greece feel that their sovereignty has been handed over by corrupt officials to the European community (aka Germany) so that their vital land (and 3000+ islands) can be used as collateral that TPTB will come to collect on and buy for cheap.

The Greeks already have major issues with the Germans (think WWII) that they feel they have never been reasonably paid back for (the wanton destruction that occurred), and now to see Germany in the driving seat of the economic vehicle hurdling Greece's childrens' future over the cliff is only working re-open old wounds that have never fully healed.

I remember reading somewhere that when the global bankers (or NWO) begin to clamp down and attempt to dominate through the system they have set up for their gain, they will first take down ethnic hotbeds with a history of dissension, and mistrust of their government. That they would target areas known for having a fiercely independent and well informed populous because these are the areas that would provide the most resistance to their overall goals.

Greece would be the perfect place for such a move, considering Greece is one of, if not the most, ethnically pure countries (97% of people in Greece are genetically Greek), and we all know the long history of the Greek people and their struggle against tyrants for a millenia and then some. The modern Greeks of today are well aware of their past history and struggles (it is repeatedly beat into our heads as children lol) and if anywhere in the world would be a threat to these globalists, Greece would probably be at the top of any of their lists.

For a country of only 11 million people, they really seem to have the worlds focus at the moment whether that is good or bad.

I hope the Greek people continue their good fight against these scum because as I was told before; once these bankers are done divvying up the Greek peoples assets, they will come for the rest of us as well.
