sick burn #sarcasm anyway, the fact that you respond with jokes or insults just speaks to my point. You can't tell me why Obama would win... you just make jokes.

Yes, jokes are appropriate.

Becuase what you are asking is like asking someone to explain to you why a major league baseball team would beat a little league team.

Or more accurately, asking how a gold medalist in the long jump could beat somone who was born with no legs in the long jump.

Seriously...Palin is border line mentally handicapped...so that is why jokes are appropriate when people like you ask silly questions.

That was exactly my point.

I realize it was a cheap shot, but it was just too damn hard to resist.

The problem is, he apparently missed the civil discussion I was having in this thread before I took the cheap shot. It wasn't a stick and run.... she's a fine lady.

What everyone needs to realize about Palin is that this is not a partisan issue, and it should never be a partisan issue. The problem with Palin isn't her opinions about abortion, the economy, education, etc... the problem is that she has no opinions of her own. She has been told what to say and what to believe, and she's not smart enough to consciously agree or disagree. So politics can't come into play when its questionable whether the "politician" in question could in fact spell politician.

Whenever this nice lady says something, just smile, nod, and pat her on the back.

This is a joke right???

I mean seriously... Palin wouldn't have a chance!

She doesn't even know where France is on a map let alone the Middle East.

She's a political actress and a fraud. Hockey mom my butt.

I don't care for the woman or her views, I am simply saying that she was able to connect with a segment of the population (albeit a small one) that the body politic has alienated in this country.I am sorry but in case you didnt notice, there are a lot of people who feel shafted by the government as of late. Her base is not a bunch of rocket scientists, Its probably the 23 percent that believes that dinosaurs are the work of the devil.I just observed that the people who hated her seem to really hate her and the ones who love her seem to really love her. I don't think she is necessarily and evil person, just a very misguided and ignorant one. I think there is a sentiment that most politicians have contempt for the common people, and she conveyed on some level, "look I am like you". The average person to me in this country works paycheck to paycheck, makes under 50k a year, has some religious belief system, and values. Most are not college educated, nor have they had the opportunity to be. Most are decent civil people who have a sense of right and wrong. She portrayed herself as a mother, religious, with values, who didn't feel the need to be politically correct. And that clicked with some people. I am NOT defending her, I am making an observation. The people I just described are largely non existent to the two parties. I am really convinced that if you make less than 200K neither party views you as even there, OK I will return the question, what does the average person look like to you?
