Africa is the setting for WW3 and it's on a slow burn setting. This is all about access to strategic minerals, not oil. Minerals that without which our high-tech way of life cannot be sustained. The Chinese have made major inroads in Africa over the last years and the US, England and Australia are inserting military and intelligence resources to counter the threat.

And that is exactly what I was eluding to in #3 in my previous posting in this thread. Thank you for saying this because for those who know me in Skype, I have been very verbal on this point and anyone who knows me will attest to the fact that I keep saying "Pay no attention to the right hand that is pointing to issues like oil, Iran, Russia and other current hot button topics. Lets instead pay more attention to the quiet yet rapidly posturing left hand in Africa"

I will say one thing about this whole Kony 2012/Invisible Children bullsnip... it's opened my eyes and has me hot on the trail of trying to educate myself better on a region that until then I had absolutely no interest in and had no idea of it's global significance. Nice try US Warlords, you almost had me there.. but now I'm watching you like a hawk.

BTW: Your US Marine ad there almost had my afternoon snack evacuating my person in a very violent way. I'm really starting to hate the mind-game (replace 'game' with another 4 letter word) and resenting the fact they have no respect for our intelligence.

I know, marines running through the desert like mindless drones is pretty ludicrous. "we're coming to save you!"

The language is changing to try to focus on humanitarian missions instead of chasing terrorists (since those are all homegrown now anyway)
My pain specialist is going to Uganda in May and it scares me to death! He's going to visit with his son who is doing relief work. It's a bad time to be in that area if you're a foreigner, or soon will be. He's been my doc for 4 years now and specialists are nearly impossible to get in to see as you might know. Finding one that is really good and caring is even more difficult. I'm hoping he makes it back in one piece or I'm in trouble.

While i agree, he is evil, Kony is not the main point of this thread. He has been doing this for years. Australia and the USA have now surrounded Uganda, and are operating in the countries. The public is calling for war with Kony, who many believe is still located in Uganda (he is not). The Australian SASR are looking for potential militarfy intervention sites, doesn't that ring a bell that they want to go in? I feel that Kony is the scapegoat for an invasion of Uganda. Remember Uganda has a crap load of oil there, waiting to be produced.

They have not surrounded Uganda they are also in Uganda. Uganda a US ally. Uganda who has been a main supporter of the US backed Somali Government and has a large number of troops in Somalia figting for US interests. Why would we attack a nation that already does what we ask?

The allies are still surrounding Uganda, that is fact. China wants to invest in the oil in Uganda, and Uganda has it's own choice. Tell me, why do you think the USA and Australia are operating in and around Uganda? The Kony video has popped up at a damn well perfect time with our Special Forces in there. Half the freaking population of the people who has seen the video are calling for war.

Thats like saying because US forces are in Poland, Denmark and Italy that they are surounding Germany where US troops are also at. And US forces have been those parts of Africa including Uganda since 911.

Doesn't sound like much more than a training exercise. I think it is the least we can do where China and rare earth metals are concerned. They are obviously not hiding anything. This is meant to be public. They make it sound like a protective force, which is easy to sell to Australians, but that's why I think Uganda isn't surrounded. It would be Zimbabwe, if Australia was some kind of colonial overlord, but where are the colonial masters? It's sounds confusing because it's all been planed out, but it's just surveillance. Our gov'ts shouldn't try and tie it in with emotive media, even if it's a press release.

Where is Kony stories were all over the papers, which I did find odd. If that was a ploy it only highlighted the existence of a group that documented Kony's long lasted, psychopathic, insane, power trip.

It says a lot about Uganda's instability.

I see no reason to defend China in Africa, now. Are people aware of how China conducts it's business?

Very intriguing ad i must say. The area in which it is set does appear to be Africa, as the ME does not look like that.
