it is a pretty clear reference to addiction .... It is fast becoming the king/lord to many people and "destroys" the quality of the individuals life ... Christ retrieved the key to the bottomless pit that this "angel" guards. Addicts must acknowledge a higher power to recover from the disease known as addiction.
