Nice demonstration. I wouldn't have expected the result. It was just as simple to read as it would have been, when spelled correctly. I'm however confident that if primarely long words were chosen, there would be some difference.

Hint: Toddlers do not speak gibberish... They speak backwards.

Try recording a toddler's voice speaking gibberish. Play it in reverse. "I want I want".

This is because the brain actually takes things in, in reverse, if you will.

But of course, world leaders aren't applying this to our Music and Media outlets.
Not at all.

Great thread!

Really interesting stuff.

I started reading it thinking "Why is EVERYTHING mispelled" and then I thought "D'oh!" hahahaha.

I could read the whole thing without problem, but I suppose so can everyone else

Grate post. Where did you get the 55 out 100 statistic? Pull it out your butt? I dont see how any one that can read fluently could not under stand that.

I read the first one just fine, I showed it my 6 year old son and he was able to read it too.
The one with the numbers was pretty cool I read that ok, my son read the second word message right away and was able to catch a few other phrases in the paragraph.

The human mind is amazing.

Why is this a rant? Either way, I remember reading an article about this a while ago, and I could read every word of your post. Although I didn't know that most can't read this style of writing, I thought everyone could.

I have a great mind too...the best way to have read your thread was VERY FAST! That way my brain could auto-correct the faster I read

If it's a routine procedure of the brain to recognize a word when the first and last letters are in place, how come only 55 out of 100 can read this? I don't believe that. I think anyone could read this.

That's really mad how that works, is it actually true though that its 55 in a 100 or is it just something we can all do as you said the human mind doesn't need the whole word?
