I am little confused here.

You have these righteous religious people posting on the forum and all but isn't playing on the internet considered to be a true sin? A so called temptation of the devil? Just like gambling is a sin, playing the lottery is a sin. ??? Are you not suppose to be reading your bibles 24/7 a day and trying to convert others? Or, you just catching up with the times with the social-networking?

So, truly, you can't all be that religious and you are just all posers. Which is it?

I'm just curious.

Guess it depends on the persons perspective going into it. And no, people arnt supposed to be "reading their bibles 24/7". Spreading the good word is diffrent than beating someone in the head with it.

Personaly, I think you're Trolling.

Why poke? Star and Flag quota running low?

No I was just curious. Some people really get involved with there posts with scriptures. Like, I mean, word for word. But, isn't the internet suppose to be a temptation of the devil?

And we won't be able to help you.

Jesus died for us so we could use the internet, how cool is that?

BUST OUT LAUGHING!

Damn I needed that!

OOps! Now see! I used the internet and now I swore! SIN! SIN! SIN! [/sarcasm]

To the OP... No, the internet is NOT a sin - what you do with it might be, but no, using the internet is not a sin. There's a LOT OF GOOD on the internet. There's also a lot of bad. Let's not judge one because of the other.

peace

The internet is not a sin. so there is no problem.
This dilemma is artificial. Find a real one.

well not being part of any main stream 'faith',but i do study religion.
the real sin is how the church wants to control all information, keep you dumb, and tells you what their interpretation of that said knowledge means. its not your place to learn on your own! they will teach you!
is that the sin you mean!?
the biggest sin ever, according to the church, was the invention of the printing press.
people started to learn to read, and got their own bibles to styudy.
then all hell broke loose! people began to ask questions!
this was the begining of the 'golden age' of invention, science, astronomy, and just basically searching for answers.
god forbid you look thru a telescope and declare the world is actually round! that will get you excommunicated, and your name won't be re communicated for 500 years!
that is real sin

Once again, I suppose it depends on that persons perspective. If it becomes your demon, like anything else, it can be sinful.

Though, Knowledge may be as well. I'm not sure what the take is on that.

Like many things, it can be a tool for good or evil, I suppose.

Click on "Quote".
Then. ideally. you delete most of the other post and leave only the specific portion you're replying to.

I believe the Devil was created by mans religion to control people in fear. The bible has the ten commandments, which where the greatest of sins(back in those times). Now today there is a lot going on from porn, child rape, and still the sin of murder of course(and many more). If you have a moral mind, you know what is good and what is not. The internet is there for social and educational purposes as well as for the work environment. If its used for sinful and "evil" reasons, then yes it can be a bad temptation to some.
Many people who are religious are confused and have been brain washed to believe what ever there preacher tells them. Times have completely changed since the "Bible Days". I was told once by a Pastor/Preacher that I was sinning because I wore jewelery, had short hair, wore some make up(was called a harlet for wearing it) and was reprimended for wearing pants. I asked him to show me complete proof in the bible that says this, he told me "we can discuss it another time". I walked out of that church and never returned, nor did I ever attend another church again. There are too many religions and cult like churches that I was just completely confused and fed up with it all. I was raised a Baptist as a young child, but that church I mentioned was Penicostel. They are an extreme case of cultish brainwashing religions.
I prefer to remain spiritual and non religious, I know and believe there is a god/creator and still pray and meditate as well. I find it hard to believe the nonsense that comes from the brainwashing of most religions. You can pray at home, and be more close to God/Our creator than in a church teaching its people to believe only what the bible and what the preacher tells you too. Dont forget the ones who tell you to pay your 10% plus tithings and tell you if this is done, God will take care of you if you take care of him and the church..I watched people give away money they didnt have to give, and their bills didnt get paid by God...Dont be fooled and controlled by religion, use your own mind and judge for yourself.
Sorry for the long reply, the thread you created just hit a nerve..But it is a great subject thread and I have to give you S&F..

They are controlled by fear, unless of course they are the posers..

I have to warm up my coffee some before I tell you what I
think about this thread...I'll be back

I'M BACK!!

It depends on what you are doing on the internet. If you are
looking at porn sites, that's a sin,if you are gambling online,
that's a sin,if the internet is distracting you from your christian
duties,that's a sin.
I have the KJV Bible on my computer along with the koran.I
send emails to my children.I look up things to prepare for SHTF,
I pester all of you here on ATS.In my opinion, these are not sins.

I am not by any means a biblical scholar but... I don't recall any specific mentioning of web use being a sin.

If I may, try not to assume positions for complete strangers based on what you perceive to be their belief systems. I may believe in God... but I really don't feel compelled to make YOU believe. In fact, that's your choice to make. I respect that. Please respect mine and those of others
