I think that's something stupid to be proud of.

You didn't have ANYTHING to do with it, it was merely luck. Just like a person gets lucky by finding a dollar on the sidewalk.

But you don't hear people going around saying how proud they are to have found a dollar laying on the sidewalk do you?

And if dollars could talk, do you think they would be going around saying how proud they are to have been found?

It was merely randomness and nothing more. In my opinion it's a primitive thing that only leads to discrimination, war, and it divides the human race.

Be proud of something YOU accomplish, and don't be proud of an act of randomness.

Being proud of ones race can sometimes lead one to a slippery slope as we have seen far too many times through out history.

Be proud of something that took you hard work, determination and will to accomplish.

Be proud when you lend someone in need a helping hand.

Stop being proud of the thing that has kept us divided and that has led to genocides.

Everyone has the right to be proud of their race, its when they think they are better than other races that the popo hits the fan.

I don't think there is anything wrong with celebrating your heritage and your roots. It keeps the culture alive, no matter what race you are.

The thing is to be a racialist, not a racist.

Being proud of your color is more about being proud about the strengths you think your race has through cultural and societal reasons.

There is nothing wrong with being proud about "your people" but yeah, in these modern times I just wish everyone was the same shade of gray...lol

Racialist, Racist

It doesn't really matter

The thing we should aim for is to get rid of this whole "race" thing.

The only race we belong to is the Human Race.

People are proud of their race because, I believe, deep inside themselves they feel worthless.
Having pride in their race makes them feel special.

I have no problem with people being happy about their color of their skin or where they were born.

However being proud is something else.

Be happy, don't be proud.

Because so many people are sad, alone and lack self esteem.

Identifying with some pointless trait you had nothing at all to do with or some effortless ideal you don't even have to practice to claim allegiance to a great cop-out to filling whatever void it is that leaves that person sad, alone and lacking self esteem.

It's the same whether it's race pride, neighborhood pride, nation pride, religion pride or even some kid wearing logo covered clothing.

They're all just sad lonely people wanting to belong and feel important without having to put out any effort to conquer their feelings of inadequacy or to accomplish something personally.

Carlin talks about that a bit.

But to be "happy" about your race will still be taken by some as being "happier" about your race than others, which some would still have a problem with.

I think people are proud of their race(s) because somewhere along the line someone decided to bring together a group of people for political reasons with the idea of racial superiority. That led to the need of whatever race was being called inferior to become super proud of themselves so that the idea of inferiority did not seep into the minds of their own people. Also led to people mimicking the superiority thing as well. Social construct thats all. Of course im sure the eugenics crowd will be along shortly.

I think it's fine to be proud of what culture you come from, the problem as others have stated is when you deem another culture lesser than yours. I don't like grey, I like color...I love learning about other cultures, love the music and traditional clothing, different religions or spiritual beliefs. We always go too far though in trying to eliminate racism and say that in public we can't be our culture or our religion because we might offend someone of a different culture or religion. Too bad! How are we supposed to move forward by denying who we are? Human first, sure. But let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater.

I believe people use their heritage and race so that they can relate and fit themselves into today's human society. Its a form of "identification", even thought its highly irrelevant, but it creates a sense of place and persona. If you had no race, color, or anything for that matter...you'd probably have some sort of identity crisis.

People should be proud of their race. I'm proud of my race.. And we should NOT unite Humanity under one Government and so forth (New World Order).. We should not come together and celebrate, we should become anti-globalists.. I find it disgusting how thoughts once natural are classed as hate crimes now..

The only people who are not proud, are people who are suffering from white Liberal guilt, and hate themselves (Hipsters, others).. And care more about the Third World than they do about their own country.

"Blend, blend you Goyims! It is for the good of your country, and is the way of the future! Get rid of any pride or nationalism within you, and from there.. We'll be able to take control of you much easier! If you dare speak out against us, and speak out against our agenda's, we'll use accuse you of committing hate crimes against Humanity, and force you to hate your own race!" - Global Elites.

Hmmmmmm....so this whole thing with SOPA.......how did that happen? Clearly people came together and said no to something as a mixed society.

I never really think about it to be honest. I only take pride in the things I have achieved personally or pride in the actions of others, but i rarely think about my race as being something to be proud of. It's something I have no control over.

What i can never understand is why people would want to limit themselves with the choice of partner they have based on race. I mean where does one draw the line.

"white liberal guilt" is not as rampant as liberal haters think.

It's a shame really, by expressing pride at either your skin colour or race, you are merely supporting difference.

I understand why people do it, mainly due to them being victims of hate due to their race, however it kind of keeps that nasty racism ball rolling down that steep old hill.

We have an awards ceremony here in the UK called the MOBO's. (Music of Black origin) To me as a white guy, I find it offensive at times as it does promote racism.
If you can feel pride FOR BEING white/ black or what-ever, can you really then say to the person who then starts picking up on negative things about an opposing skin colour or race that they are wrong?

Hopefully one day, we'll all be one colour as populaces mix.

No I'm not suffering from "white liberal guilt" nor am I a hipster.

I'm just seeing through the bull crap.

You brought up the New World Order, but have you ever thought that maybe, JUST maybe they want us to continue to think that we're different in order to make us fight each other so we become weak?

Every day we are bombarded with news stories to remind us of how different we are, and look at where that has gotten us.

The only way we will change for the better is when we come together.

Race and culture are two different things.

Race is something that you are born with and had nothing to do with.
Being proud of being born white, black, brown, asian ... whatever ... is silly.
Being happy with your race is healthy.
Being happy for others of other races is healthy.
But pride? Downright silly.

Culture is something that you can chose to take part in or not.
NOT ALL CULTURES ARE WORTHY OF BEING PROUD OF.
Taking pride about being in a culture that is good for people ... that's great.
Taking pride about being in a culture that is a cancer to society ... that's just sad.
