For this discussion lets assume the soul/spirit exists...

Im not saying this is what happens... just something to ponder.

I believe realization of the soul is very important in this life... Now lets say a certian person does not realize his soul exists through out his life. When he dies, instead of returning to the source (like we all do) this person doesn't realize his body is dead but his soul is still alive... he finds himself conscious... but without any spiritual progression in his life he is unable to escape his body, and suddenly he finds himself locked inside his dead body... detached from it because it obviously doesn't work anymore for whatever reason, yet trapped inside like your own prison.

Now in the case of creamation, you wouldn't feel your body being burned i would assume... yet your are technically thrown into the fire so to speak...

But imagine in the case of a normal burial... trapped in the darkness 6 feet under for eternity.

Scary stuff...

Was that a movie?

I always kind-of worried about that, which is why I want to be cremated.

Interesting thought. However, having done some previous research on this, in the form of various NDE reports as well as some research into astral projections, i am pretty convinced no physical barrier will be able to trap us once our body dies. We will be able to fly freely through matter, time and space at will, looking at everything from an entirely objective viewpoint, where earthly things will matter less.

And it will not matter if we are burned or buried. At all.

Depending on our life decisions and karma our soul gets to visit a new body or even a new plane. Getting trapped in for eternity is frightening though
Consider the human body a trap in itself. Death can only bring relief to this saga. 90% of the population would get trapped due to non-realization.

Who is this "we", "I", "us", that is going to be trapped? That is my only question.

I always wished that if I were to expire, I could be put into orbit. Once I swung lower and lower, I'd then re enter as a brief bolide, probably over the spacious oceans. My living body is a trap of misery, because I am so sensory sensitive/intolerant. maybe they could put me up there as a spy sat, if i became incurably (physically) ill. Wonder if Vandenberg AFB would

The Rules of Life dictate:

Rule 42: Cheating is Aloud!

Sew I'd at least write 42 on the wall, with pee.

Yes, all of what is said there is the same information as is in the Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads, insofar as countless other books and documents. Yet the question still remains, who is this "I" you speak of that is going to be trapped? That is the only question need be asked. (hint: It is not a question to be answered but only inquired into)

There's only one question that's not to be answered . . . the question kNot asked!

we came from stuff that was elsewhere before earth existed.

We can't be trapped by what we are made of.

But i get what you are saying.

I remember a Twilight Zone that had a theme along such lines. Guy died, was stuck in his body, non-feeling, but could see and hear everything up to the point he was buried. Maybe it was an Outer Limits... Either ways, good stuff.

As for if I believe it, nah. Scripture says to be absent from the body (aka being dead) is to be present with the LORD. So, when you die you meet Jesus. No lingering in the dirt, no waiting for this or that before you wake from your grave like some ghost zombie to fly in the sky as the living crap themselves wondering what the flip is going on.

But that's just what I believe.

Who is going to answer it? If you say, "I", then again, who is this "I"?

The OP's question is 'could my spirit be trapped in my body after its death', and my question is who is this "I" that has a spirit which could be trapped?

I toadily understand the question you asked and toadily agree with the purpose of the question but you then said it need kNot be answered, when the answer is THE ANSWER.

Who is the eYe of LiFE?

Toads = M3WE
Humans = WEM3

I guess reading up on some NDE's and past life, life between life, regressions, would be really useful. Then maybe falling for their lies and fear porn would stop, and really seeing how silly and immature they are from a soul perspective, would develop strongly instead.

No, it doesn't matter what happens to the holographic body, or where its placed in the holographic world, the Soul is infinite and really viewing this all from within.

Just shine up your love and work on relating better to those around you, and seek within, to your Source and Soul and strive to wake up and do what you came to do.
