First of all...I said those numbers were both Special Forces AND Rangers...which the U.S. have in MASSIVE numbers.

Secondly...as far as one F-15 being shot down by another F-15....that is almost like semantics and even though the F-15's are being replaced by a smaller number of F-22 Raptors and Raptor production is beeing held down not just because of their high cost...but...the U.S.A.F. is under a directive to develop Super High Speed....Manuverability....and Lethal...Robotic Fighter and Attack Aircraft that will not only be much Stealthier than an F-22 but unmanned and capable of performing long distance penetration of enemy airspace as well as performing speeds and manuvers that would KILL a manned craft.

Still the F-15 which there are A,B,C,D,E...and other varients are being upgraded and if I had a choice and one of my close relatives was an Eagle Pilot....a choice of being in an F-15 or a Eurofighter or any other craft other than an F-22 or new Robotic USAF fighter....I WOULD CHOOSE THE F-15....and so would just about any pilot.

As far as the EF2000/TYPHOON....too many cooks spoil the soup...the Germans understood this and backed out of several concepts in development and production with this lame duck.

You talk about a friendly game of Airplane Tactics...well...the U.S. has ben doing the REAL THING consistantly for over 60 years almost continuous. I would not get all High and Mighty over a fake exercize.

Confident about a system which the West knows little about and has never gone up against.....
It would pay to be cautious... But then, you Yanks aren't known for that are you?

Nothing in the sky will touch these Robotic Craft nor does any other country have anything near them on the drawing board.

As far as Special Forces and U.S. Rangers and Airborne...these numbers have been steadily going up for the past 12 years and when I say Tens of thousands...I am not saying 500,000....but more than 10,000.

Hubris..
You're making the assumption any future enemy is as poorly equipped as the 3rd world nations you've slapped about for the last 50 years. Any NATO nation has as good (and in some cases better) counter measures and counter-counter-measures. It is reasonable to assume that top shelf Russian tech is also not as easy to push over. It would be foolish to think you could as easily remove from the sky a capable opponent as you can Iraq or Serbia, which are the only recent nations to even put aircraft in the air (and only a handful, token gesture)
As for flying our aircraft, we fly yours too. In fact, such a programme has been in place since the 70's. We've even flown your stealth aircraft, including the B-2.
I'm done now, I can't debate with someone so blinkered by national pride.
