Oh, he certainly paraded a public option around on a leash like a poodle at a dog show, didn't he? But who here really, truly thought a public option was going to pass? It never was going to. This whole Obamacare dog show was fixed from the beginning to pour more money into insurance companies and big pharma.

[color=cyan]*****

Excellent point !!

I would also note that the insurance companies were noticeably excluded from the stimulus packages.

Obama'sCare is the payoff.

Sandra Fluke may actually be a shill for the mail order prescription outfits as well.

They felt "left out" and passed over, poor guys !

BTW, does anyone know for sure if Obama'sCare will mandate coverage for over-the-counter condoms ??

That would interfere with her right to receive pleasure!

Keep it up...just further proving your ignorance.

Have you actually read or watched her testimony and what she is talking about???

Because it seems like you are spewing exactly the type of spoon fed garbage that Limbaugh is dishing out.

It certainly could have passed if the GOP hadn't scared everyone into thinking it was the next worst thing to the holocaust. A public option/single payer system is quite common in other parts of the world, and while not perfect, it certainly does keep costs down. It's not like it's some weird, crazy idea.

Hey, I'm all for regulating insurance companies and big pharma. Let's put a cap on how much profit they can make. But then the GOP would scream "Socialist!", "Communist!"

Clearly they haven't heard Ms. Fluke's testimony. They've heard Rush's and Beck's ignorant and twisted version of her story.

Because it seems like you are spewing exactly the type of spoon fed garbage that Limbaugh is dishing out.

Which is EXACTLY what Rush and his GOP are hoping for.

Perhaps she is coordinating with the WH via Media Matters who cavorts daily with the White House Staff. Funny that Ms. Fluke referenced Media Matters as the place to go for GOP dirt. MM and their mentally disturbed CEO would love nothing more than to cripple the Conservative Movement and all that is attached to it.

Notice how she singles out Glenn Beck (enemy number One for Media Matters) Glenn has got his gig now

“Well, I would encourage everyone to go to Media Matters because they have an excellent story on their website that gives a list of the various commentators who engaged in this type of language — Glenn Beck for one,” Fluke said. “And I think it is really important for us all to understand that this was not one person who went crazy and made funny, outrageous statements. This is evidently a segment of our political commentators who think that it’s acceptable in today’s society to say these things about women.”

How could she possibly leave out Maher's constant debasing of Sarah Palin and all Women in General. Dumb Tw!@ and C!@# are not exactly terms of endearment.

How about when Ed Schultz called Laura Ingraham a slut and Barbara Walters and her View cohorts just laughed it off.. But, Fluke gets the red carpet on The View.

Whatever... Fluke is being used as a tool and was hand selected to fill the role she is currently playing.

Why won't Obama give Bill Maher's $1 million back? Obama has two daughters and a wife. What message is he sending to them. Maher can dish out the C word and call women Dumb Tw#$! and its ok because he moonlights as a comedian. Hee Hee Hee. Glad we have a president with such a high level of moral rectitude.

You mean the testimony where she said:

“Without insurance coverage, contraception, as you know, can cost a woman over $3,000 during law school. For a lot of students who, like me, are on public interest scholarships, that’s practically an entire summer’s salary. 40% of the female students at Georgetown Law reported to us that they struggle financially as a result of this policy.

Unless the contraception is condoms.

Or, how about when she said:

“One told us about how embarrassed and just powerless she felt when she was standing at the pharmacy counter and learned for the first time that contraception was not covered on her insurance and she had to turn and walk away because she couldn’t afford that prescription. Women like her have no choice but to go without contraception.

"No choice"? None? Nada? Zip? The ONLY contraception choice is by prescription? Every pharmacy and grocery store in America is in deep doo doo then, as anyone of age can buy condoms right off the shelf!

Oh, how about when she said:

“Just last week, a married female student told me that she had to stop using contraception because she and her husband just couldn’t fit it into their budget anymore. Women employed in low-wage jobs without contraceptive coverage face the same choice.

“And some might respond that contraception is accessible in lots of other ways. Unfortunately, that’s just not true.

That's just not true! Not true at all, I tell you!

Here's a gem:

“These are not feelings that male fellow student experience and they’re not burdens that male students must shoulder.

Except, of course, it is accepted as a matter of course that men are supposed to buy their own condoms. With their own money. And stuff.

But I'm completely ignorant of what she's REALLY talking about. Which is none of the things that she..uh...talked about.

Transcript: Sandra Fluke testifies on why women should be allowed access to contraception and reproductive health care

Back peddle much?

You are just trying to do the same thing Rush did...try to demonize this girl....try to make her out to be bad for talking about contraception.

She must just be craving that pleasure...what a slut.

Given what a joke the current conservative movement is (just look at that ridiculous Blunt bill!!), and given how Glenn loooooooooooves to misstate facts (150mil Muslim terrorists worldwide...looooool), you can't really fault Media Matters for this

And making fun of Palin isn't the same doing the same to Mrs Fluke. Why? Because Palin has said such a crazy amount of bat# crazy stuff in the past, it's easy and totally justified to make fun of her. How anyone can take her seriously for anything but being a clever mascot is beyond me

I'll admit to back peddling when you can show us all where I claimed she said that. Thanks in advance!

And I don't think she's bad for talking about contraception. Contraception is great. Fewer pregnancies by unwed mothers, or by couples not ready for parenthood is great. But testifying before a congressional hearing and trying to make out like there is absolutely no option besides prescription birth control is not so great. It's disingenuous at best.

You do understand that condoms have no effect whatsoever on polycystic ovarian syndrome, right? An aspirin between the knees doesn't help prevent ovarian cancer. And spermicidal foam does NOTHING to prevent endometriosis... But the Pill helps in ALL of these medical conditions.

I used to have cramps so bad that I would miss a day of work once a month. The Pill made them virtually disappear!

Ignorance is NOT attractive. Deny it!

For women that need BC pills to control the symptoms of those conditions, of course they should be as available as any prescription drug. Are you trying to say that every woman that requests BC pills have these conditions? No, I don't think so. And neither did Ms. Fluke, or she would've said as much.

Your emotions are WAY overriding your intelligence. Talk about unattractive.

The left might be using her the way the right used Joe the Plumber.

After Rush Limbaugh threw her into the spotlight, (since other wise her speech might have been on C Span -if Darryl Issa allowed her to speak at all) and not the National Stage, she has gained popularity as a symbolic figure for young women and has made it clear that many women are prescribed BC pills by their physicians to regulate menses and fight ovarian cyst and not only for reproductive protection. To censor this usage and access to medical treatment is unfair to women and unconstitutional. Since this also mirrors the White House position - it wouldn't surprise me she has become an honorary speaker or representative for their causes and views.

Now for the record, let me get this straight -

Conservatives WILL
cover the workforce loss (subsequent increase in consumer product price) husband and wife's maternity leave, the resulting childcare, education and subsequent expenses, vaccinations, medical procedures, insurance and health care costs, (not to mention strain on the finite resources of the planet).... for an accidental, unplanned and unwanted pregnancy...

...rather than pay the infinitesimal cost to provide readily accessible birth control now?

I wonder if economic planning like this is something we can always expect from the Conservatives?

And this is the point. Who are YOU or anyone to know WHY I'm using prescription drugs? Sandra Fluke's point is that women are being denied coverage of BC under their insurance plans because of religious employers.

Funny how you describe Palin as a mascot. That's how I see Fluke. The name calling and insults aren't good from any side. Rush Apologized. Maher never did...NOW slapped his wrist and he still kept on calling Palin a C---- and a Dumb T---

You actually think that debasing Palin and all women is justified just based on who Palin is?? It's ok because she's Palin. Wow!

Criticize all you want. No need to spray the media with foul remarks like Maher did. Palin can handle the criticism. Everything else is just lowbrow. Rush's comment was lowbrow as well. At least he fessed up.

"Crazy amount of bat#crazy stuff in the past" Funny how you attack Obama dissenters in other threads for thinking the same thing about him. But, BIG BUT, its Palin so its ok..

Great logic!!

Congratulations. There's not a Target within 3 hours of me. Do you think every town has a Target? Fluke wasn't just speaking for herself. She was speaking for women ALL over the country.

The WH is pimping her out like the crack whore they absolutely love and support.

Pfft,Who gives two flying flicks about this stupid topic? Only the WH and the left. You guys are so right on cue! Keep on looking over here, just as the WH wants.

Meanwhile, the rest of us who understand whats really going on, need to step back and check your BOBs. Make sure you and your families are prepared.

Sorry, I thought there was a Target on every Street Corner.
Get a 3 month prescription and drive into town. Make a day of it. Grab a hot lunch and treat you and your dog to a pedicure. Stock up on Toilet Paper. You'll have a fun day I promise. Target even has a Starbucks inside. Go Crazy BH. The coffee is on me.

I just thought Fluke was speaking for those poor Georgetown Law Student and Undergrads who have been deprived for so long. Perhaps there is a Target within 2 miles of Campus.
