So then what is the speed of sound in a vacuum?

I must ask why the fastest measurement of speed the speed of light and not the speed of sound?

And then we have this.

The speed at which sound propagates (or travels from its source) is directly influenced by both the medium through which it travels and the factors affecting the medium, such as altitude, humidity and temperature for gases like air. Bad news for Star Wars fans—there is no sound in the vacuum of space because there are too few molecules to propagate a wave. It is important to note that sound speed in air is determined by the air itself. It is not dependent upon the sound’s amplitude, frequency or wavelength. To calculate the speed of sound in dry air at sea level, use the following formula:

V = 331.4 + 0.6Tc V = velocity (m/s), Tc = temperature in Celsius.

For comparison, the speed of light in a vacuum is 299,792,458 meters per second or 186,000 miles per second (669,600,000 mph), which is roughly 870,000 times faster than the speed of sound. The difference between the speed of light and the speed of sound is why you see lightening before you hear it (unless you are struck by it, in which case it may be simultaneous!).

That text sure appears to be a copy/paste....just by the cadence as reading it.

Care to provide the source?

And, even if you don't, then at least can you try to understand what it is saying?

If you carefully read through it you will see the lies and deception by the mainstream the debunkers grasp on to so tightly. My next post will point all this out.

The mechanical vibrations that can be interpreted as sound are able to travel through all forms of matter: gases, liquids, solids, and plasmas. The matter that supports the sound is called the medium. Sound cannot travel through a vacuum.

Last I checked the universe or atleast are solar system is made up of Gas,Liquids,Solids, and Plasmas is it not?

www.nasa.gov...

The Interplanetary Internet must be robust to withstand delays, disruptions and disconnections in space. Glitches can happen when a spacecraft moves behind a planet, or when solar storms and long communication delays occur. The delay in sending or receiving data from Mars takes between three-and-a-half to 20 minutes at the speed of light.

Well then I guess this reply sums it all up for me. You know more than any scientist or physicist because they are mainstream and don't have a clue, that is what you are pretty much telling us right?

Well okay then, good luck with your little world of knowledge.

By the way what does this have to do with HAARP or chemtrails, which I think I asked this before?

Yeah I answered it and you fail to back track through a thread which is why I have abunch of double posts! For the people who are afraid to leave the box!

It seems that most everyone in this thread knows a good deal more than the OP.

Oh, and BTW.....the point was that the text in the earlier post was NOT written by the person who posted it. ATS rules are very clear:

(^ ^ ^ Thread from 2006!)

Point is, the information presented is certainly what I, and everyone else who's been through school and taken science classes already know.

But the question still stands: Did you fully understand it?

Time will tell.......
