UPDATE: A video posted on the website now shows the beheading of a hostage. After a statement was read, a man rushed forward with a knife and
performed the beheading. The voice on the video is said to be that of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. The voice also addressed President Bush stating: "Now,
you have people who love death just like you love life. Killing for the sake of God is their best wish, getting to your soldiers and allies are their
happiest moments, and cutting the heads of the criminal infidels is implementing the orders of our lord." The victim Eugene Armstrong, traveled world
wide for his construction business. He leaves behind a wife.
In an unconfirmed report, an Islamist web site has stated that one of the two American recently kidnaped had been executed after the deadline has
passed. Iraq has seen a recent surge in kidnaping and the total number is up to 120 at this time. The web site claimed that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi had
beheaded the first American and that the others would follow. The group has indicated that video proof would be forthcoming.
news.yahoo.com
CAIRO, Egypt - A Web site posting claimed that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's group has beheaded one of the American hostages in Iraq (news - web sites),
but the claim could not be verified. The short statement, posted by a Web site contributor who has put up past statements signed in the name of Tawhid
and Jihad, said that al-Zarqawi, "God protect him, has beheaded the first American. The group will next behead the others." The posting promises
video proof "soon, God willing."
The reliability and authenticity of such statements, videos and pictures, which appear frequently on Internet sites known for their Islamic content,
cannot be known for certain. In July, a statement was posted by what was described as the "media department" of Tawhid and Jihad saying that all of
the group's statements would only be posted through al-Iraqi.
Relatives had been pleading for the release of two Americans and a Briton held hostage as a deadline passed for their beheading. In Baghdad, gunmen
assassinated two clerics from a powerful Sunni Muslim group opposed to the U.S. presence in Iraq.
Please visit the link provided for the complete story.
The fate of the remaining hostages is unclear at this time. The email message was signed by Abu Maysarah al-Iraqi. this false name has appeared in
the past on the web site and it was a message with his name that had placed the 48 hour deadline for the hostages. The Tawhid and Jihad group, lead by
Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, has indicated that they would behead Jack Hensley and Eugene Armstrong of the United States and Kenneth Bigley of Briton today.
The group is demanding the release of Iraqi women from two prisons.
The insurgents appear to be targeting foreign companies that have poured into Iraq to reconstruct the country, They also are attempting to disrupt the
elections that are pending as well.

It is a fact that not only people of the Arab race have used beheading in history, but European also.
I believe these are indeed outside terrorist organizations that are funded by probably the biggy Al Queada.
They seem to only take hostages of non-military people. They are smart in one way because they know it will get the attention of the American
government. The USA will not back down and withdrawl its forces to save one man's life. Personally USA forces should of never entered Iraq.
I've met returned US Soldier telling me how the media portrays Iraq is not truly how it really is. Most of us don't know whats really going in
there, we get our sources from the corporate media.
I've been against this insane series of wars which has been draining the economy of my country while peoples basic needs at home go unmet.

What a gruesome tragedy indeed. Unfortunately attention is the only thing they're ever going to get from chopping off all those heads; be it 1 or
1000, their demands are not likely to be met and the Bush admin isn't losing any sleep over any it. Sad...very sad.

Can you negotiate with these terroists though? The Phillipines will pay a price and fairly soon for bowing to the demands of the insurgents. You
cannot negotiate with these people: EVER. John McCain has gone on the record that a new ground offensive is needed to root out the insurgents. He is
correct, and it may be the only way to put a stop to this barbarism

Maybe we should give them what they really, truly deep in their soul, want.
Launch a small series of Neutron warheads to Fallujah, Messina and Sudan.
Tell them that if they do not disarm completely within one month, we will launch another strike.
Maybe if Muslims in the west were actually treated badly by western locals they might do something to stop their bretheren.
Me, I have had enough of the Muzzies, enough of their society and enough of their 'tribe'. If they show up in my neighborhood I'll teach them the
meaning of long slow untreatable death.

What if someone was planted with some kind of tracking device? It would take some serious balls by someone or some people, but wouldn't that be a
way to catch al-zarqauwi? That would be classic. I would love to see that guy caught as much as Oksana Bin Laden.

THE PROBLEM HERE IS THAT WE TOOK SADDAM OUT OF POWER!!!
They were all MEEK as kittens when they had the threat of having everyone in there family killed for sneezing publicly...
Saddam was the only ruthless enough bastard to keep this country together under his tyranny, if it wasn't for his fear tactics, then it would have
been a civil war AGES ago... now we have nothing to look forward to except the same civil war that he put off...
Unless we decide to throw away all of our pride and respect (not much after Abu Gharib) and decide to start the public executions and gassing of the
populace (like Saddam)... then we don't have the tools neccessary to do THIS job...(lack of ethics)
I HOPE we dont do that, but maybe rather do the smart thing and pull out all of our forces and our money, and let them all fight it out... and YES,
the victor will unite with Iran (DUHHH) and the #es will Rule that part of the world...OH well....
If we didn't want that... then why did we take out Saddam? OH yeahhh. He was in league with Osama...HAHAHAHAHAHA
And he had WMD's HAHAHAHAHAHA
and we thought they had oil that we could take....
Silly Americans... oil is for Halibuton... (and trix are for Kids)
sad sad sad that now innocent people are being killed by the same people that we "freed".

I agree Lazarus, I have always argued Saddam would never let militant Islam take away from his power, he would have crushed them like bugs. Now we
have created a hornets nest of terrorists, and our troops are forced to hold back by politicians, you can't fight these bastards with political
correctness, how can the Bush administration really say they are not fighting a "sensitive" war on terror, like they claimed John Kerry would?

I agree, one cannot and should not negotiate with any of them. But as sick and wrong as it is, the people being beheaded have pretty much chosen to go
over there for whatever reason and surely had enough sense to know what the potential risks were (are). It doesn't make it okay, that's for sure but
you wouldn't find my name on the sign up sheet.

my first post... it is true that beheadings are an accepted form of punishment in the arab world but that stop the blood from boiling in my heart w/
each case. My emotions say we should overrun the damn cities and show the truest face of horror but I know we must stay the course. Let us get to the
elects and have the Iraqi Forces fully trained. That is the plan.

I cant believe they can do that to people. These people are just animals. I know it's said they know the risks by going over there, and it may be an
accepted form of punishment... But it's just down right barbaric. I cant imagine what it must have felt like for that poor man, that's bad enough. I
cant imagine what his relatives are going through right now, It's scenes like these that make us think, why the hell are we even in that country. We
should leave now and not give them any more excuses to kill innocent men.

I Have heard that The kidnappers have set a deadline of 24 hours before they kill the remaining 2 hostages - including British businessman Kenneth
Bigley.
.
The son of the UK man Kenneth Bigley has personally appealed to Tony Blair tonight asking him to give in to the demands for the safe release of his
father,

sorry deeprivergal, this is a link to the vid, just the site the vid is on has some pics on it, but assumed that anyone who wanted to see the video of
this description would not be bothered by the fact that naked bird is on the wallpaper around the streaming vid..
sorry if the wallpaper offends... but the real issue is the video which I beleive that you will understand.

It was just unexpected. I would assume that the video is much more graphic than naked women on a website. That's the real issue here.
From a jihad website, they are saying that the man was alive.. very alive during the execution. Be aware that this video may be EXTREMELY GRAPHIC.
