Can anyone give me a spoiler so my note taking will be easier? I left a space open for my question. What is the proper way to regulate forces in order to sustain a revolution from start to finish? Pike says that revolutions fail because forces are ill regulated.

Is there more to it than a Charismatic leader, a people of common need and a common enemy?

Pike is speaking allegorically of forces in general... personal as well as political. Keep reading. HIs point is that maturity comes through growth and the marshalling, ordering, and focused use of your personal abilities... at least, that is what I see.

You see, the Entered Apprentice degree is about youth, maturing, growth and seasoning, and its lessons are all about circumscribing passions, channeling and focusing, as well as maturing... temperance, fortitude, justice, prudence, faith, hope, charity... all are virutes of adulthood, to be incorporated into the personality of the candidate.
