Does anybody watch this show? I watch it sometimes and wonder if I could do some of the things that they do. I dont think I'd have a problem with eating the nasty, crazy things they eat but I dont think I'd like to be laying in thousands of bugs or rats. The outdoor events are usually pretty cool. I saw this article on Reuters about the show, they think its unsafe for some to watch.

CLICK - STORY HERE

"People experience a greater increase in heart rate and more distress watching the reality show "Fear Factor" than they do watching an actor in a similar situation in a fictional movie, according to a study released Thursday."

These findings suggest that, for some viewers -- such as those with a history of phobias or anxiety -- reality television may be simply too real, and unsafe as a result, the researchers conclude.

During the NBC show, contestants compete by performing stunts such as eating live slugs, allowing dozens of tarantulas to crawl on their head and dunking their head into a tank full of snakes.

i don't eat organs so i wouldnt eat testicle and would loose all they'd have to do is bust out bull penis and balls.

i'd eat a bug, or be covered in spiders but no testicle or #ed up # like that.

I wont even eat liver
and never would i eat brains because i have pyron-phobia

But I usually turn it during the gross gastronomy challenge...as I'm usually eating dinner right around that time...and seeing people eat bull testicles kind of sours my appetite....

Unfortunately, theres a new game show opposite it (on Pax even!
) that I prefer to watch. Dirty Rotten Cheater. It's a great premise...there are about 6 contestants, and they all get a question, with 10 top answers...the more obscure the answer, as long as it's in the top ten, the more money they get. However, the twist is that one of the contestants is cheating, and sees all of the answers! So, he or she can pick the number 10 answer (worth the most money) or a middle of the road one, to throw off suspicion. Everyone must guess the cheater, or risk losing half their money each round... Very intriguing show, and fun to try and guess which one is cheating....

Anybody else watching the 15 most outrageous moments of Fear Factor on NBC right now? They have some really crazy stunts on there, right now they are eating maggot-filled cheese.

I'll do the outside events no problem, but the second challenge which are the eating gross things challenge is questionable.

Time difference here on the west coast, but I will watch it
If I really wanted to win the 50 grand than I would eat the disgusting food
But in the end it would be worth it

on eating organs... The hardest part about that kind of challenge is that those things don't tend to go down very easily, even if well chewed, so it's difficult physically, as well as the mental gross-out factor. Stick me on a bike along a highwire, but you can keep the bull penises, thank you....

Dog eat Dog is a later tamer, and the questions are almost as easy as "Jaywalk" questions,
Jeopardy for Savants....

I don't really watch it, but I have seen it. I wouldn't be bothered about doing any of the stunts. As long as I knew it couldn't kill me I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Cheers Ocelot, I wholeheartedly agree. Give me 60 minutes. Or better yet, ATS, this freak show is better than anything NBC can come up with...insanity, intellectual debate, paranoia, friendship, heartbreak!! It's all here. I love this place!!

with a little trash tv now and then...one of my few guilty pleasures. I'm just weird like that. I'll watch documentaries over most prime time tv, but then I'll watch Survivor (really an interesting view of interpersonal relationships)...go figure?

Theres a similar show on Sci Fi Channel called Scare Tactics with Shannon Doherty. If that isn't scary enough. Who would really think that it was a real gorilla in there? I mean come on.. it looks sooo fake...
