I think we both know that rape factors in very little on this debate.
Was Ms. Fluke talking about rape or was she talking about "women's rights".
Was she talking about rape or a right to have sex without consequence?
A right to have sex without it interfering with the life she has planned out?
A right for others to pay for the life she feels she and others are "entitled" to?
She is free to have any life she chooses and she is perfectly capable of having that life without others contributing to her sex life.
NOTE....
Others will not pay for it until 2014, when most of the "healthcare law " goes into affect.

Hows your view then on the state paying welfare to raise that kid that could have been prevented?
Who would need state assisted contraceptives? poor people
what happens when poor people have babies they didn't plan on? They go on welfare for about 18 or so years, and that kid has far less opportunity than one planned out.

So, by -your- decision as a voter that would try to remove contraceptives from availability towards the poor, you directly create welfare babies

Now, I assume you personally believe fully that we should increase the welfare state dramatically in order to work well with your ideals...right? right?

ya..thought so.

You are kidding?????
People have to accept responsibility for their actions. Don't expect Santa gov to pay for your booze, cigs, house, car or birth control. Want birth control? Get a job and buy it or ask Mom or Dad for the $ not Uncle Sam, or the Christian university you attend.
People have to accept responsibility for their actions.
People have to accept responsibility for their actions.
People have to accept responsibility for their actions.

We all pay for everyone's irresponsible actions all the time. We pay higher car insurance premiums to help pay for those teenage boys who drive recklessly and have accidents. We pay higher healthcare premiums to pay for smokers who get lung cancer, and obese people who get heart attacks or diabetes. Our taxes help to pay someone disability who got themselves paralyzed by doing something stupid.

Why get so upset about a little birth control, when someone is actually trying to do the responsible thing by not having an unwanted baby?

They've succeeded into making this a "contraceptive" issue instead of what it truly is... a conscience issue and government over-reach.
Ms. Fluke doesn't represent most women. She's doing tptb a big favor by deflecting people from the real (and quite disturbing) issues such as the insane spending, the debt, and what our government is really doing (wars and caging us).

Ms. Fluke and the other well-spoken victim-ridden Flukes are masters at whinning and distorting "women's rights".
She represents a weak woman who doesn't want to be in control of her own body or life. She's crying out for power exchange. She's giving the government more control over her body.

Rush is right.
Meanwhile, Rome is burning, ...but this is more entertaining and easier to rant on.

So, you are trying to pass off one person's blog as definitive evidence that most women don't agree with Ms. Fluke?

Try again. Some statistics would be nice.

Still not going to hold my breath....you will never prove your position; as it is seeded in lies.

Rush Limbaugh is the LAST person on the planet to denigrate anybody, for ANY reason.

Everybody seems to forget the years in which he was an oxycontin addict, buying it off his Mexican cleaning woman on the black market. He took so much that he destroyed his hearing and had to have a cochlear implant to be able to hear again. He never got in any trouble with the law, and never served a day in jail. Neo-cons are so quick to forget this.

So a lying, law-breaking pill addict is calling somebody else a slut for advocating coverage of birth control? LMAO!

Hey Rush, I'll give you 50 oxycontins if you'll just SHUT UP.

I've always wondered if Rush Limbaugh isn't actually a Democrat. Perhaps there's a conspiracy in there somewhere. I mean, everytime he opens his mouth, he makes the Dems look good. Bill O'Reilly fits this conspiracy as well.

They have never helped the Republican party, they are the ones spouting class warfare, they are the ones who are bigoted....the list goes on.

Rush Limbaugh is a Democrat in Republican's clothing.

It's not just one blogger and me who dissagree with Ms. Fluke.
I am here to tell you that I don't lie and I also don't agree with petty people who seem to act like they're addicted to creating yet another Bill/Law.
I'm not in the minority and stay the heck out of my wallet

But this whole line of thinking has got me wondering........

Will they also start giving male students $3,000 a year to help them have sex as well? They can get the condoms they need for free at pph, so I guess that will leave a lot left for call girls.
Quad

Men can't get raped and become pregnant. There is a difference. Men having sex can be without consequence that ends up being a burden on the state, or an even tougher choice down the line (abort).

I'm sorry for jumping in the middle of this argument, but are you suggesting women need contraception to protect themselves from rapes? Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm female, but I've never considered going on the pill just in case I get raped, nor have I ever considered carrying around condoms in case someone decides to rape me, in which case I won't react by saying "Here, Mr. Rapist, at least use a condom." If I ever get raped and I'm alive enough to make it down to the clinic, the first thing I'll do is ask for a morning-after pill.

Men having sex is not without consequence. They father children that sometimes end up being paid for by the State, and therefore the taxpayer. No, they don't have to go through abortions, but the woman can just as easily avoid abortions or unwanted pregnancies by either driving down to the liquor store and picking up a couple of condoms, or keeping her legs closed. Easy as 1,2,3.

I will say this, however..... it may actually be in the interest of a private health insurance company to cover condoms, as that reduces (but doesn't eliminate) the risk of contracting AIDS or other STDs. I'd think it would be cheaper to cover condoms than to treat someone for AIDS or some other STD.

Serious Muttley says:

Yeah, I read a few comments. Still, they represent what, a few dozen (at best) people? People replying to something they already subscribe to because they share similar views as the blogger. Hardly scientific and definitely not statistically valid.

Show me a nationwide statistics. Statistics that cover ALL walks of life.

Sweet Muttley says:

Thank you for the "cute" comment.

This is just despicable.

I read a book by Mark Levin called "Rescuing Sprite", about a dog he adopted. As an animal lover, I really, really liked it. In it, was some conversations between him and Rush...and I tell you what, he seems like a totally different person! And then I hear this and I'm like "Well what the hell...". I know he's no saint, but...#^&$%@& this is so crass and rude to say the least!

I think you didnt get the whole story. The girl was quoted as saying she was having so much sex she couldnt afford the $1800-$3000 a month for it, and that it was her right to have it paid for by tax payer.

Alot of the people at her school George town I believe it was, are also not very enamored with her statements.

I havent even read any other post yet, but I bet that alot of you guys wont even research before passing judgement on Limbaugh.

I totally disagree with your OP, but I will S+F this post if I am wrong.

I don't think you understood what she was saying. She said it could cost up to $3,000 over the course of law school - not each month. And I believe she was referring to the cost of the birth control pill, which can cost $50-60/month. Over 3-4 years of law school, it can add up to $3000 total. She WAS NOT quoted as saying she was having so much sex, it was costing her $3,000 a month for it. Get real.

THANK YOU!

Geez! The ignorance here is unbelievable. Are these people really that dumb? Do they think Birth control is like Viagra, you take it every time you have sex?

Birth control is a regime. You don't just decide, today I'm going to have sex, so I better get some BC. Most take a month just to kick in, and women who want to conceive may have to wait years for their body's to get back to normal.

Also, this isn't about tax payer money. It's about including it the existing health insurance policy.

It is not just birth control. The issue is the government being involved in things it has no business doing.

We have zilch private industry in the US, but have a government that is the biggest employer in the country. The bigger and more bloated it gets the more rampant the corruption grows.

Face it, we have let the government coddle us to the degree that we are in it's strangle hold. Why in the world do we need Lunch Police at schools?

What does the Department of Energy do beside shuffle paper? FDA is getting it's back scratched so well by Monsanto that it is killing us off with all their protection.

The government owns us, but we are too high maintenance and our economy can not support all the entitlements. So the prevailing trend is to eliminate the excess population to curb this problem.

Where do the entitlements end? They don't, they just keep growing.

My next door neighbor was telling me how he liked prison life. Last I heard one in 100 people are in jail in the US. Yet the banksters and politicians they are in bed with that are raping all of us are living the high life while the pot growers are doing hard time with the murderers.

All we are entitled to is life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Liberty is fading fast as we allow this sinister government to own a bigger piece of our freedom with each passing day.

God help us all when the economy flat lines and the SHTF, you can bet we will be fighting a new war or be heading into FEMA camps or both.

My rant.
