Trying to put this computer together, the monitor was working with a laptop but it won't won't work with this desktop that I am trying to rebuild. Does anyone have any clue as to what may be? I got the power cord and the vga cord, so I am baffled, and none of the extra vga slides will fit into the computer. Wondering if it's that. Hmm, I think I already my answer. huh. lol

Going to reach out and guess windows....
Press F8 before windows boots and select
Enable VGA Mode or low res mode. Now if your hardware is working you should be able to log into your computer now. Once in, set the monitor to the correct resolution.

What is your current configuration? Are you using the onboard video or is there a graphics card installed?

Is it on board graphics or a graphics card? Have you tried testing it with another monitor. Its probably your PC on not your monitor. Mind telling us the specs? Include the power supply.
