I wonder about those numbers, it is impossible at this early hour to know how many have perished and are stranded, wounded or trapped still.

Also what about the Marysville situation? Reports of a town swept away in the storm yet no word on casualties?

Marysville wasn't the only one destroyed.
They are working through the night to find survivors,or deceased.

The Associated Press reported that the town of Marysville is "completely gone," according to Clark County Sheriff's Department Maj. Chuck Adams. Southern Indiana was walloped by a tornado and authorities are reporting extensive and widespread damage in Henryville, IN, about 20 miles north of Louisville, KY.

27 dead from this.

It's March 2.
More tornadoes today then whats is usual for the whole month.

A whole town has been completely erased of the land.

Mudslide in Campbell county, should be cleared by 11:30.

Knoxville is almost in the clear, just a few more minutes of severe thunder and lightning until regular storms.

Knox, Anderson, Roanne Counties are now in the clear, the worst is over for you.

Power is flickering in Karns, but not out.

Just my little update.

More pics from local coverage of the destruction in southern Indiana/northern Kentucky.

Henryville High School area...

Thankfully, all of the students were accounted for.

"Praise the Lord. Nobody had a scratch."

You can't say that about the school, though. Most of the building was ripped to shreds just like the countless homes in the twister’s path.

Wow. All students accounted for.

Head injuries, amputations, broken bones, a Nurse I believe she was, just took time out of working and helping from Laural co. Kentucky to ask that people do not try driving in and looking around as they are still bringing in emergency cases and need to keep the area clear.

Be careful and be safe, get your butt off the internet and take cover. Or, bring the computer down into the basement at least.

So sorry to hear this, you stay put and dont go out looking, stay safe and know that many , many prayers are being sent your/their way.

Thank you for the prayers! My friends were found. They're injured but not bad. Their neighbors are still missing, as is their home, so I'm hoping they just found a way to get out and get help as well. I still haven't heard from my friends in the Paintsville/Salyersville area and another of my friends can't get in touch with her sister who lives in West Liberty. West Liberty was basically flattened.

Bike and/or motorcycle helmets are also good to wear should the need arise.

My thoughts are with you, yours and your animals.

Thanks for that tip.

Hmm, anyone find it interesting how the gas prices rose right just before this happened. Also, when I was looking at the histories MARCH 2, 2007 also tornadoes roll though. Same day but different year.
