For anyone who thinks warning people on this board is going to save lives.....might want to reconsider that. I mean, does the world really need people so stupid that they are surfing ATS while a tornado is getting ready to chew them up?

The way I see it, is survival of the fittest, lol. The world rightfully should chew you up and spit you out if your not on point, lol.

Bad weather can be a good thing. It can "cull the heard" so to speak. Those of us that die during bad weather are those of us that probably were not smart enough to protect ourselves to begin with. Thus, for humanities sake, when those people get whacked by nature we should all be grateful. Hate me for stating the obvious.

You do realize that people use mobile devices to communicate and to gather information. Some people use many different sites to communicate, while their local weather channel might be better, a actual tornado warning can come at any time, while you are any where.

People may be out and about when a watch get's set, and that watch can suddenly go to a warning. Police and Firefighters try to respond, even is weather as bad as this, and can get caught in something just as deadly.

According you: they are part of the "herd" that needs to be culled.

Now: do you actually have something CONSTRUCTIVE to add to this thread? Or (and this is based on looking at other posts you've put on ATS) are you just here to troll as per your modus operandi?

You've made your point: you think this thread is pointless. That being the case, there's the door leading to plenty of other threads for you to look at. Don't let it hit your rear end on the way out.

I'm right there with ya Des, 'cept I'm over just west of Knoxville. This weather has me nervous. Our house is surrounded by very large trees, so I'm keeping a close eye on everything. Thankfully my parents live just down the ridge from us and have a concrete bunker for a basement, so I think we might camp out there for the evening.

Hope you and the animals stay safe!!

If you have a storm coming to you, make sure you have your shoes on and put on any helmets (bike, football, batting) before it hits.

1ibl2ibs has been doing an excellent job of keeping updates flowing, as have several others on this site. I currently have ATS, Public Alerts, Weather.com, Accuweather, and a radio nearby.

We're stocked up on bottled water, flashlights, enough batteries for an army, along with lanterns, candles and matches. I've got a bug out bag I keep in my car for anything that might come up. But keeping one tab open with ATS on it, to get the above updates members are providing shouldn't condemn me or anyone else in the path of the storm to death.

You can think/wish what you'd like but I'm sorry, your post seems callous.

Thanks. Storms and storm chasing is my main interest in life; I might as well try and help people with information and knowledge I have.

Greetings friend kdog1982:

As usual, you are ahead of the game and on top of it!

Thank you.

As First Responders, we are locked and loaded and awaiting orders, AND, under a tornado warning NOW in Rabun County, GA, so are in place until tomorrow.

Here is a complimentary thread that is somewhat self-explanatory:

Are Mid-America's Nuclear Power Plants in Danger of Losing Power Today?

A work in progress...

Stay safe, my friend.

Well thank you. It certainly isn't expected, but great of you to do.

Another reason I like ATS for this kind of thing, updates with kindness and a sense of community....for the most part
