This whole storm system will be making it's way towards you by tomorrow. It likely won't be quite as potent by then.

Thanks.

We have lots of warnings on all the local news stations in Memphis. No rain, just strong, very strong winds. Sunshine actually; 82 degrees. I was driving to pick the kids up from school on the expressway and has to try hard to stay on the road......the wind is that strong.

And what would you suggest people do? In times of tornadoes, especially for areas not normally equipped to deal with them, we are simply told to get to the innermost part of our homes or underground.

If you don't have an underground area, then you hide in a bathroom or closet and ride it out, hoping the damage will be minimal.

Perhaps we are in the safest part of our house, scouring ATS and other weather sites on a laptop, looking for updates. I'm sure a lot of people are even better equipped with weather radios, but it doesn't hurt to have other outlets of news while you still have power.

This isn't an emotional rant, and I don't want it to sound like it is. I'm staying calm, but keeping informed by being online currently, as I'm sure many other posters are. Nothing wrong with that.

For anyone who thinks warning people on this board is going to save lives.....might want to reconsider that. I mean, does the world really need people so stupid that they are surfing ATS while a tornado is getting ready to chew them up?

The way I see it, is survival of the fittest, lol. The world rightfully should chew you up and spit you out if your not on point, lol.

Bad weather can be a good thing. It can "cull the heard" so to speak. Those of us that die during bad weather are those of us that probably were not smart enough to protect ourselves to begin with. Thus, for humanities sake, when those people get whacked by nature we should all be grateful. Hate me for stating the obvious.

You are dumber than dirt.......

Threads like this one give people a heads up during very dangerous situations. I'm grateful for my friends, though I've never met them in person, who post on these threads. I pray everyone keeps safe.

Henryville reporting injuries, severe structural damage as per Jim Cantore.

Multiple reports indicating the high school was damaged - or worse - with students possibly trapped.

Borden (Indiana) high school reportedly damaged.

One of the Indiana tornadoes reportedly ripped large sections of asphalt out of the ground and tossed them as far as 50 yards away (EF-5?).

Another report says a town in southern Indiana is "gone."

Thank You so much. You can cut the stillness with a knife. Air warming up, but no movement.

There's nothing wrong with loosing humans to weather. Sure I know, every life is special....bla....bla.

But in the real world, weather kills. We have done a great job in the US with helping to negate the majority of weather related deaths, but you can't save everyone.

If, like a poster above said, your hiding in a closet checking ATS for weather updates.....well......maybe, just maybe you should rethink your survival strategy. Hell, hide in a closet, whatever, but for crying out loud checking ATS while doing so when there are other sites you need to check for real updates is pure madness. Your the type that mother nature should pick off I guess. Saves us the trouble of undoubtedly paying for your lifetime of bad decisions.
