Bright light and big explosion in Tempe,AZ,

I am right on the Tempe Scottsdale boarder and about 20 mins ago there was a huge white flash of light followed about 5 seconds later by a huge explosion. Then my Internet goes out. First I called my provider and it was busy and said they had lost service in the area, so I called the Tempe police dept to see if they knew anything and not a single person in Tempe or Mesa has apparently called in a single report. Please tell me I'm not crazy. If anyone saw this or has called it in I would like to hear from you. Thank you.

It is raining here in Ohio, but there was a huge bang just a few minutes ago, hopefully just thunder.

Sounds like a transformer or a couple of transformers may have exploded. Happens every now and then and creates quite a spectacular light show.

The one on the pole across the street blew one summer afternoon last year. It was pretty loud but not a hugh explosion. Kind of like an M80 in a metal trash can loud. For those who may not know an M80 is a large firecracker . It was followed by a small fire in the transformer not a large flash of light.

what color was the flash?

one time when i was driving through the reservation, i experienced a bright flash of a green light at about 2 am. I was in mid conversation with my uncle, he confirmed he saw it. then shortly we heard a boom.
