There's an interesting article below dealing with Project Bluebook 'actual unknown' cases which describes how one UFO researcher discovered that the files had been tampered with and witness names censored whilst they were being prepared for transfer to the National Archives in Washington, DC.

The unredacted/uncensored files were made available to researchers again in 1998. I have referred to those files in a few threads, including in my latest one at the link below:
www.abovetopsecret.com...

Don Berliner`s article at the link in the OP pre-dates the unredacted/uncensored files becoming available again.

Thanks for the post Isaac and it also mentions at the end of this documentary dealing with the Cherry Creek incident about the censored files although I guess that predates 1998 as well - it states in the NICAP article below that a set of the original un-redacted Air Force microfilm was discovered at the National Archives and that the rolls contain pages of UFO information that are not on the NARA rolls, have you ever heard any info about that?

I could be wrong but given the USAF's reputation when it comes to missing UFO evidence and after some of reading some of these official explanations, I don't exactly trust their judgement or motivations.

March 1975; Project Blue Book Files Transferred

When Project Blue Book was closed down in January 1970, the original files were transferred to Maxwell AFB in 1975 but were made available on request for public viewing sometime in 1976. In 1975 these documents were microfilmed by the Air Force for internal use and then transferred to the National Archives for public release. Before microfilming these documents for public release, however, the Air Force blacked out witness names and other personal information in accord with its policy of protecting the privacy of witnesses despite the fact that the files had been available for copying and inspection for years without these deletions
In 1998 a set of the original un-redacted Air Force microfilm was discovered at the National Archives. In addition to witness names and information, it has been confirmed that these rolls contain some pages that are not on the NARA rolls.

best thing to keepin mind, (and to keep to yourself) is that NOTHING HAPPENS ON ACCIDENT.
everything's scripted.. there are no accidents waiting for inute men to pry their eyes into things that shouldn't be seen.. anything that's said to be "snooped" is intentionally leaked as part of the overall plan wheels within wheeeeeels...

coverup inside coverup inside coverup... it's all been thought out to great extent and anyone undoing this raveling is not heard from.....

ie:.. any info you get.. you meant to get.

the "legend" of "alien intervention" is flavored for the coming saga that will unfold through absolute THEATRICS...

but more power to them... it will be an entertaining one to observe...

it's all being done in the necessary manner... deception within deception...

what you "think" is the coverup is a carefully guided opera that you will be a part of.... NOT the truth mind you.. but nonetheless just as important as he truth.

I'm not too sure about that Prevenge, especialy when it comes to the USAF and declassified UFO documents -John Greenewald Junior makes some excellent points in the presentation below about how 'the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing' when it comes to different departments within the organisation and he found many don't collaborate and completely contradict each other - he also mentions that sometimes the military don't know what they are sending out and even received a box of top secret documents containing a mouldy sandwich from the Vietnam war era (see 40:25)

Orkojoker, thanks for the reply matey and I'm sure the USAF was/is extremely interested in flying objects that can execute right angle turn maneuvers at high speed - after all, who wouldn't be?

There are plenty more reports and documents in the thread below including this radarscope image showing an object performing a 90 degree maneuver over Washington in 1952 (see figure E).

At B, some are seen over the White House and Capitol. At C, they appear over Andrews Air Force Base. At D, one UFO tracks an airliner. At E, one is seen to make a sharp right-angular turn.

NICAP's Francis Ridge discusses missing Bluebook file containing 63 cases of UFOs over nuclear installations:

Almost from the beginning of the Air Force UFO investigations, patterns were starting to emerge, and the cover-up was already in place. Researcher & NCP member, Jan Aldrich notes:

In a 1952 LOOK article, Ruppelt mentions a file of 63 cases of UFOs over nuclear installations, but such a file is not in currently declassified Blue Book files.

Hey mate, thanks for the PM, will certainly have a good look around for a better quality MP3 version of this pilot transmission - you're not wrong about the disproportionate number of UFO reports coming from Nuclear/Atomic sites either, here's what Project Bluebook's Captain Ruppelt had to say about it:

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/9ede6048e0fc.jpg[/atsimg]

Captain Ruppelt made some pretty surprising statements during his term at Bluebook and researcher George Fawcett does a good job below of expanding on his comments about UFO sightings over Nuclear/Atomic installations and providing case examples - there's also a good database link here from Larry Hatch and NICAP's Nuclear Connection Project which lists 193 UFO sightings in or about nuclear sites and related places and shows a case summary of events, coordinates, date and time.

This official flying disc illustration is taken from an Air Force Intelligence Manual, AFM 200-3, Chapter 9, page 3. The caption reads: "The Air Technical Intelligence Center is responsible for the prevention of technological surprise."

NCP-05: UFOs Continue to Visit Nuclear Energy Sites

Looking back over the years during the 40th anniversary of UFOs in modern times (JUNE 24,1987) it is interesting to note that UFOs have been seen and recorded near various atomic energy locations in this country and overseas. This link was first noticed by Captain Edward Ruppelt in 1952 and reported in a LOOK magazine article (JUNE 24,1952) titled "Hunt For The Flying Saucer." Captain Ruppelt, who directed the U.S. Air Force Project Blue Book at that time, when viewing a folder of 63 mystifying UFO reports that had been plotted on a map of the United States discovered that it showed "an ominous correlation" with the location of various atomic energy installations. LOOK magazine learned that some high ranking officers had taken note of this fact and had then held a Pentagon conference to discuss these numerous strange concentrations that have continued to this day.

Such incidents at the Savannah River, Hanford, Los Alamos, Oak Ridge, McGuire , Cherokee and Indian Point nuclear and atomic plants are of continued vital interest and concern to scientific, military, civilian and governmental observers everywhere.

These UFO encounters raise such serious questions as: Are UFOs monitoring our atomic and nuclear energy sites and if so, why? Why has the AEC (now NRC) had representatives on most of all the major government UFO investigative projects? Why do guards at some AEC installations report their UFO encounters directly to the AEC?

This news article also makes for a good read.

Hey mate, as well as Larry Hatch's database for NICAP's Nuclear Connection Project, there's also an Intelligence Summary Report here which lists other incidents including an interesting one from April 22th, 1998.

It also mentions the East Lake U.S. Coastguard incident from March 4th, 1988 which involved a huge object being witnessed over Lake Erie releasing up to a half dozen triangular shaped lights and objects which flew towards the Perry Nuclear Power plant - the U.S. Coastguard Government document does make for an interesting read.
