Hey, ATS Admins & Mods ... how about a top ten list of the most visited threads on ATS by govt isps

Well, if the government is monitoring sights like this, which is very probable, maybe they can learn something from here. Maybe they will become aware of some unpercieved flaws they have and awareness is half the battle. Most of the things that are wrong with this society can be fixed. Nobody is perfect, if you think you are perfect than you need to see someone about your sanity.

That would actually be rather hard.

The Google Analytics data does not provide domain names of the networks accessing the site, only network names, such as "Road Runner," "Cable Vision," "General Services Administration," etc. And since we don't retain server logs, reverse lookups on IP addresses are also out of the question.

No surprise there.

Taking a sip from the assumption punch bowl I assume this request is due to the thread relating to PopSci's (Popular Science) article whereby they determined what the top five articles most viewed by DHS (Dept. of Homeland Security) were.

None the less, looking at some of them, it's laughable to think these are actual DHS hot topics as it were. Although the idea is novel and imo would contend with the "fun" side of ATS, I agree with the other posters in that there is no way to determine the validity of these visits by specific individuals "in the know".

For all PopSci knows these visits to the "top" articles could have been the janitorial staff at various DHS facilities, the same would be so if ATS were to incorporate it, it would be purely speculative data.

It would be nothing more than a novelty at best.

Fun idea though

Wanted to edit my previous post but I'll just put it here instead. Their interest isn't in the threads I've created, it's in the previous posts I've made in others. "UFO" design specifications, fielding/anti-grav, stealth tech, "wormhole" equations, government mil planning, nice things like that. They have a right to keep an eye out, I suppose.

Their interest is primarily technology apparently. That's pretty much the only subject I ever tend to elaborate much upon. Anyways...

The biggest issue with the idea is the total inability to determine who is behind the IP. I mean who is to say a FBI agent doesn't check in on us at his home pc?

I suppose the reason it "may" work relies on the fact that it's an untested concept, and also that (despite what anyone here may say), having multiple addresses/hits from the same agency is not at all as common as you might like to believe. Take those currently signed onto ATS right at this moment. How many are even from the same state, much less the same company? The chances of this happening are very, very slim.

A side question worth noting: Do you all honestly believe that individuals working for agencies like these are even allowed to access sites like these while at work, if it is not specifically their job to do so? In most cases this just is not so. Anyone that thinks otherwise in regards to these last two points made here certainly hasn't worked much with intelligence agencies.

But hey, who cares right? Even if it did have a slight chance to bringing you all one step further to "the truth." I suppose I'll digress. I've stated before on this website that "the one place where it's safest to speak out loud about truths you may know is also where it's most likely to be ignored."

Why would an agent look at ATS while at work? I'm sure there are more pressing matters for National security other than looking at ATS.
