The whole concept of being abducted by a strange unknown force is farcical IMO...... If this was really happening to people then we would know something by now that would at least take this subject out of the 'strange phenomenon' category!
The only data one has to work with is based on a 'story/claim' from an individual that tells everyone something weird & wonderful has happened to them!! Many intelligent individuals have been studying this phenom for years & have come up with nothing substantial what so ever IMO!!
If people want to listen & take in these claims to be true in order to find aliens/ strange unknown forces then great, why not? But for those who want to find 'the truth' regarding this enigma I personally believe the truth is staring us in the face:

the only logical conclusion must be>> 'there's nothing strange to find' that's why after all these years nobody has found anything!

My attitude towards the abduction phenom will always be the same:

claiming one has been abducted by aliens is a way of feeling special in front of those who believe this nonsense! It's fail safe because they can say what they want & do not have to prove anything at all for others to believe!! Which is exactly what happens, is it not?? The fact that none can either prove or disprove anything is all part of the fun fantasy thing & enjoyable to those who believe....Therefore those who publicly push the claim start to get a little recognition within the ufo community>> which is the whole point of the claim in the first place! Weak, insecure socially inept individuals seeking attention! It's as simple as that IMO....

Peace.

Got to agree with you here.

Makes sense.

But there is always a possibility that one or more of these cases...

I agree without physical evidence to back it up that its highly unlikely, but what was that saying? "It only takes one white crow to prove that not all crows are black." - I would attribute it to whoever, but I just don't remember.

So are you saying its a type of mass hysteria with the socially inept or "quiet ones" all jumping on the band wagon? After reading case after case IMO there is something inherently psychological about the whole affair. Mass hysteria cannot be ruled out but I'm not so quick to categorically say there is not something physical about these experiences ie something is happening, be it alien beings or the bogey man?

Whether it's all in the mind I'm not so sure. I sometimes feel someone is playing a game, a "cosmic joker" if you will. Having never been abducted I am unlikely to find out first hand?

You are always entitled to your opinion.

But... "special".. wanting to be special is why people say they were abducted???

So people want to be special enough to be vilified by most other people, they want to be called all sorts of negative things, they want to be told they are crazy, they want to be treated as if they are wrong and stupid, they want the hatred that comes from small-minded people, they want to be minimalised in society and treated like Lepers ?

Yes.. sure they want to be "special".

Anyone who makes the claim you have just made are only showing their own lack of understanding and petty small mindedness. No one has the right to vilify anyone, especially people who have no idea what others are going through in their experience of life.

Well then. If you're ever abducted by "a strange unknown force", you've effectively burned all of your bridges on ATS. So remember that when the little grey guys stick a probe in your...er...uhm...ear.

I guess there is no point in presenting any "evidence" to you then. Your mind is made up and no one but you really cares about that fact. Good for you, have fun with that, enjoy yourself, and have a good one.

as your mind is made up it seems..... for the past 45 years i've been looking for 'real evidence"--- if you've got some i've not seen yet then please present away

peace.

And they aren't treated as "Special" by most level headed Believers either. Most level headed, mature adult Believers I have known are very much aware through their own perception of the mental and emotional anguish that makes up a large portion of the after-abduction experience.

Sure there are plenty of New-Ager types who are lost in the airy-fairy Belief-System that consider abductees to be "Special", but that says more about their own lack of clear perception than anything about the real abductee.

Why has this thread been classed as a rant; & moved accordingly!?? I take it the moderators are not open to ALL possibilities then!?! Fascinating.

& how do YOU tell the difference? I guess it's just a personal perception/ opinion? As is mine.... OR do you have a special ability that allows you to know who's talking crap, & who's not? Interesting, prey tell...

So it strikes me that your major issue with this is that the majority of evidence in relation to alien abduction, is that it is personal testimony and thus; has to be (for want of a better word) utter lies. I guess firstly, I am very curious as to how much ACTUAL research you have done to come to the decision to call thousands of people liars? I mean, how many have you actually spoken to??

Granted, I am 100% sure that not everyone is telling the truth, but doesn't mean you can dismiss them all without and evidence AGAINST them. Also, are you therefore suggesting that all personal tesimony, for example in criminal court, is also complete lies?? Surely by your rationale, it has to be.

And what proof do you want? I would bet whatever you are shown on the subject, you still would just dismiss it as manufactured or lies.

I have attached a video below where Dr Roger Lier, a fully licensed podiatrist practising in California and has 43 years of medical experience, presents the removal and results of testing, of an implant from an abduction victim. Fact is, you can do the legwork yourself to verify this guy (though I am sure you wont) and you will just call it lies. But I suggest you watch it (with an open mind if you are capable).

I'm not here to argue with you, so apologies if I came across that way. I was simply offering a different perspective to view from.

To answer your question.. there are many indicators of truth and dishonesty, from body language to micro facial expressions, which I observe when I was interviewing abductees. I also noted that those who had some experience that was difficult for them to describe could hold eye contact without it being forced. unless they were being dishonest.

Gut instinct.. the Feeling we get deep in the abdomen when meeting people for the first time is a great indicator to maintain awareness of as it never is wrong.. our mental thoughts about another can be far from exact, but the initial Feeling in your gut is always correct.. and thus worthy of being trusted as an addition to the tools you already have skill with.

Everyone gets gut instincts about people they meet.. so it isn't a special ability either.

One thing I learned in life so far.. over half a century.. is to not shut ourselves off from wider posibilities, to not close the mind down comfortably around a set Belief-System, whether it was Indoctrinated or chosen, so that we are then more able to learn something new each and every day we take breath.

To do otherwise is to restrict ourselves and our own growing abilities.

Lier? don't ya just luv him--- So he pulled a piece of metal from someone.. Oh wow! This piece of metal would mean nothing until someone claims it's an implant.. Pieces of metal travel around the body quite naturally, fact!!! So your point is?? Well the point is you believe it's something strange, with no real evidence apart from someone's word for it!?!?

Please Tay, apology not necessary my friend! You have your opinion, myself & others have theirs! All I do is say it as I see it. & in my opinion, after 40+ years of being fascinated with this subject I've come to the unfortunate conclusion that there's nothing to see; going by my perception of the data put forward so far... What else can I say!?

peace.

Come on, Klassified, surely you have researched this? The anal "probe" is actually a blocking device, as our bacteria is harmful to them. And how do you mean by "effectively burned all of your bridges on ATS"? I have had the ET experienced, three times in all. Each was more like an invitation rather than an abduction. That being said, there are real cases of ET abduction, probably by the Grays, for experimentation and food. This was all part of a deal back in 1954:
Eisenhower’s 1954 Meeting With Extraterrestrials

My own experiences were quite unique, I am completely astounded by the grandeur of it all. The sad thing is, when one who has these experiences tells other about it, they are called crazy, and ridiculed.
I wish everyone who reads this could just see what my eyes have seen. I would not trade those memories for anything.
