How many senior politicians in the USA are Christian fundamentalists who believe that "Jesus Christ is coming back soon", and that "the world will belong to our Lord Jesus Christ, very soon"...

Probably not very many since most of them seem to have Jewish origins!

All this fear mongering... the Muslims are gonna take over the world....run for the hills!

Seriously, I don't see any of these Muslim states involved in multiple conflicts bombing people week after week and bankrupting their people in the process. Conversely, it is quite apparent that it is in fact our own western governments doing precisely what we accuse others of. Orwellian doesn't come close to describing it!

How they gonna invade us? In a bunch of clapped out rusted Toyota pickups and donkeys?

People point to the sections of the immigrant community and their support for supposed terrorists in their home countries, but never do I see them blaming the government for knowingly allowing these people into the country in the first place. They are simply alllowed in to whip up hysteria, with the compliant media, to push the fear factor up a notch or two. Anyone spending a few hours looking at it all critically can surely see it's all scripted and driven by our own leaders, not by a bunch of funnily dressed bearded goat herders the other side of the planet? Or do I perhaps credit society, mistakenly, with any meaningful level of critical thinking these days?

Also, all these links provided to what Iranian leaders are alleged to have said..... why are they always provided by Israeli, Christian Fundie or other dubious sources with less than a stellar reputation for correct interpretation? Most of the stories are identical and can be traced back to the same few sources, as the famous (or infanous) "wipe Israel off the map" quote was, provided by MEMRI, a notorious Israeli intel outfit.

I don't lose sleep worrying about the bogeymen the government presents to me, and truth be told, neither do they either as they know it's all BS. But hey, when did a pack of lies ever matter when there's a war to be had.
Just smile and wave your little "Made in China" flags and cheer on the brave boys being sent off to war, or arriving back from one in a box. They paid the ultimate sacrifice fighting for their country.... didn't they?

How exactly is it 'fear mongering' to repeat their words? THEY are the ones saying it. THEY are the ones that want it. THEY are the ones that are proudly proclaiming it to anyone who can hear. It's what they want. No one here made that up ... it's THEM that are saying it. So ... by discussing what those people are saying ... how is that 'fear mongering'??

Oh come on! Everyone knows the nuclear thing is BS, so they need to change tack and wave the scary Muslim bogeyman again. So what if they want their new Messiah? How does that differ from Christian fundies who also seem to be salivating at the prospect of the rapture, and endorsing the death of everyone else to get it, even to the extent of cheering on more war if it brings it about.
What may or may not have been said often comes from western sources is the point I was making. Which, as we all know, have a bad reputation when it comes to correct translations. Often, we are left with no other verifiable sources either. All the statements attributed to "official" sources, etc, that never name the person or provide original documentation for verification. It's simple investigatory requirements, and most of what we are presented simply would not stand up to real scrutiny.

You are seriously going to go with that? Try to make us the bad guy and yet excuse the nutter Ayatollahs of Iran for their speech? This isn't something that we all made up. These are THEIR words. Straight from the leadership of Iran. And no .. everyone doesn't know the nuclear thing is BS .. because it is not. Iran wants to be a nuclear country. To believe otherwise is to stick your head in the sand.

Christian fundamentalists in the USA are not the majority of Christians. Comparitively few Christians believe in that rapture notion. And those of Christians who believe in the rapture, even fewer are looking forward to World War III. And of those that are ... they are NOT in power in the USA and they are NOT making religion based laws. (unlike Iran which is run with Islam on the brain). BIG DIFFERENCE. Our fundamentalists are reigned in with secular laws. Theirs are not and are in fact encouraged in their extremism by the Iranian president who is a self professed 'twelver'.

Seriously?

Nearly every ongoing conflict involves a Muslim state of sorts.

And don't you read or listen to the news.

Bombs going off in Iraq, Afghanistan blah, blah, blah.
Hundreds of innocent people are dying every week in Muslim countries.

And they aren't bankrupting their people because they are absolutely potless as it is!

How they gonna invade us?

In the traditional, military sense it would obviously be impossible unless an Islamic Caliphate was established.
And that will not happen until the advent of the alleged Mahdi.

Many feel we are already under attack by Muslims and creeping Islamification.

....but never do I see them blaming the government for knowingly allowing these people into the country in the first place

I see that quite frequently here on ATS and whilst it certainly wouldn't surprise me if there was more than an element of truth in this it would still be impossible if there wasn't also a genuine threat from these communities and elements within the Islamic faith in the first place.

And the same go's for the sources of these reports....if Muslim extremists weren't voicing such things then they wouldn't be able to report on it and play upon people's fear's etc.

I don't lose sleep worrying about the bogeymen the government presents to me, and truth be told, neither do they either as they know it's all BS

Again, whilst I don't doubt that the government sometimes exaggerate the threat posed at times or that they manipulate that threat for their own political and social ends, the fact still remains that there have been more than enough real and genuine terrorist attacks and plots for us to realise that they they do indeed pose a real threat.

And whether we like it or not Iran poses a real theat to it's neighbours who are all predominantly Sunni Muslims.

Not directly, but they provide political clout to those that do. If, for example, Israel is to be taken as a self described "Jewish" state, with Judaism being nothing more than another religion, then surely they too, as evidenced by recent history, are just as much a danger as any turban wearing Iranian cleric. After all, they are the self proclaimed "chosen" ones who regard the rest of us as simply cattle, there to serve them?

To be honest, I am more concerned by Israeli terrorism and control than anything allegedly threatened by any Iranian cleric. Simply because the Israelis DO have a large nuclear arsenal and have a history of creating conflict for their own benefit.

So when one says something, that gives the others the right to kill millions?

If Pakistani president says 'WE WILL DESTROY ISRAEL'', what can the West do?

The West cannot do anything because when a country has Nukes, it is IMPOSSIBLE to invade and destroy it hence why India which has 10x the army of Pakistan has been unable to even take back a little land called Kashmir.

Imagine if Iran did have nukes and the West attacks it? Iran won't get the blame because it launched nukes defensively and if one of those landed in Saudi, the whole Western world will collapse from mega recession due to 50% of the oil dissapearing.

Do you know who gave Nuke technology to Iran, Libya and North Korea? A guy called DR ABDUL QADIR KHAN from Pakistan gave them the secret who himself is the founder of Pakistan's nukes and even US until today has not been capable of catching him.

Indeed! But, that is because we are over there killing them, more often than not, for the resources they sit on. Under those circumstances, their religion becomes secondary to their reason for hating us. Of course, waving the Islam card is nothing more than a smokescreen to cover the real reason they may not view us in a good light.

If we were not there, and perhaps trading with them for those resources they sit on, then maybe there wouldn't be so much death and ill feeling? No, those who govern us, and their banking and corporate handlers prefer to rape and steal from them instead, and use the armed forces simply as their own private enforcers.

The late great General Smedley-Butler understood that very well.

Big difference. The people in Israel don't want to make everyone on the planet jewish.

The Iranian imams, do. They want everyone islamic or dead.

Islam has been around for 1400 years.

So how has it become such a 'huge threat' since 9/11?

The West is clearly winning the war as it is militarily, how much more invasion and bombing is required?

Do you really think bombing Ayatollah will solve the problem?

IF it doesn't, to what extent do you think Muslim lands should be bombed?

Should they be bombed until they accept atheism?

No, but they want everyone in the world to support their evil intentions toward Muslims. We might as well all be Jewish since a lot of people support them for so many things that don't concern the beliefs of others.

Seriously dude, read the history of Islam. It has ALWAYS been a 'huge threat'.
The only reasons there are so-called muslim countries now is because all the
non muslims in those countries were either put to death or made slaves or dhimmis.
