Very interesting timing here. And a very detailed confession aired on Russian State TV.

Russian security working with Ukrainian security arrest two who planned on attacking businesses and then attempting to kill Putin.

Wouldn't want to be living in Chechnya right now.

What will the ramifications be?

Will this impact on Russia's role in Syria?

Anyone?

Something interesting in the article:

According to the TV channel, after weeks of interrogation, the gang members confessed they were planning to assassinate Putin in Moscow, soon after the March 4 presidential elections.

After weeks of Russian interrogation, I'd confess, too.

No, I don't mean to say they weren't planning to kill Putin, I don't know. I only mentioned it because it caught my eye.

Ramifications? I don't think there will be any. Putin will do what he wants with or without this event. It will be too hard to draw a strong link between three nuts with an assassination plan and open national interference in Syria.

But that's just my totally uninformed opinion. You should probably ignore it.

Just as RT has been reporting- Putin's political rivals for presidency have been much more vocal about their goal while Putin has been mostly just sitting back...

And then news breaks out that some would-be assassins of Putin were caught.

I agree with the poster above me- I'd probably confess too if I was interrogated for weeks by the FSB
