second. it states "people of color"

the term "people of color" is used quite extensively in academic writing regarding race relations.

put your claws back in,

I must apologise. I was not aware that while 'coloured' is racist, 'people of colour' is not.

I understand that it it is not easy for 'people of colour' like yourself who takes it upon herself to write long posts telling us why white people are racist but black people cannot be.

To quote from your above post

"Her point is that people of color can be prejudice but by the definition from above cannot be racist."

Please have some sympathy for us 'non people of color' who find it difficult to keep up with the terminology we are allowed to use when addressing you as an ethnic group.

Again, I cannot apologise enough. I have nothing but respect for 'people of colour' and apologise for mixing the term up with 'coloured'.

Please say hi to Dr. Tatum from me when you see her. Whoever she is.

i stopped reading at your first paragraph . I'm sorry

no one has the right not to "be angry". that's privealage talking. ala:
"You are making me feel bad, and think about things I don't want to!! SHUT UP!"

and if you think in your 32 years of being white (a white male?) you have not benefitted (in america?) than your block is squarely located in the zip code of fantasyville.

Do you think your life no matter how opressed it is, would have been better lived in america, where theres "massiive" racism, you cant vote, cant ride a bus oh wait you can now why are you complaining.

or africa where they actually struggle.

The unemployment rate of African Americans without a high school diploma was 26 percent in the second quarter of 2011, compared to 12 percent for whites without a high school diploma. The unemployment rate among African Americans with high school diplomas and no postsecondary education was 15.9 percent, while that of similarly situated whites was 8.4 percent.

Finally, the unemployment rate of African American college graduates was 6.9 percent, while the unemployment rate among white college graduates was a mere 3.9 percent.

I have never benefited for being a white male. If anything, I have been held to a higher standard to everyone else. That is not fair.

And my block is composed of all different races and ethnicity. You can see my city as I have it listed on my avatar. Pull your head out of your behind and come visit for a month. I guarantee you will change your tune.

again , baby out with the bath water.

the reason america is better for me, and everyone else, was because of that little thing called the civil rights that happened a few years ago.

you know, when black people made a bunch of people mad by inconveniencing the privelaged psyche and things changed? People were saying "you got it good" then too.

nothing was ever gained by complying with the status qo.

What I find really obnoxious and racist is the fact that some scientists attribute the lack of success for 'people of colour' on a lower IQ compared to whites.

library.flawlesslogic.com...

Of course blacks and whites are identical in every way.

Except only white people can be racist.

The black unemployment rate is high because they don't want to work! Jesus age Christ! Pull your head out of your bum and wake up! MY goodness. It has nothing to do with their skin, it has to do on how they treat others, how they talk grammatically incorrect or unprofessional and wear clothes half off of their asses and the general unwillingness to want to work. The truth hurts but the truth is just that, the truth. And if you call them out on it you are a racist. My goodness. You really are an ambassador for the PC crew, aren't you?

ETA: when ever I've landed a job it was because I conducted a good interview and I was qualified. Not because I am white. SO tell me now, how is THAT white privilege?

there's nothing more racist than when an African American. born in america, whose great grandparents literraly built and lay in unmarked graves ; are thrown consistent allusions to Africa whenever they try to make their countrys better through dialogue. No one cries , "go back to Europe" when white people get on their soap box.

The powers that be have misled people into believing that America=white

"if you don't like it leave"

sir,
I'm just as American as you. And

Slaves helped build White House, U.S. Capitol

You move to Africa, the africans were doing fine before colonization , or must I pull out some history books ...

the fact that someone starred your post when it opens with black people are underemployed because they are lazy is disheartning,

but unsuprising.

So why do 'people of colour' call themselves Afro-Americans then?

because i can tell you honestly want to know, I will attempt to answer.
Keep in mind that there have been several name changes because black people were called whatever whites wanted to up until very recently. Thus we had no identity other than what was giving us.

this is pulled from wiki feel free to check it out:

"In this same period, a smaller number of people favored Afro-American, a common shortening (as is 'Anglo-American'). However, after the decline in popularity of the 'Afro' hairstyle in the late 1970s, the term fell out of use

In the 1980s the term African American was advanced on the model of, for example, German-American or Irish-American to give descendents of American slaves and other American blacks who lived through the slavery-era a heritage and a cultural base.

Thus linking a people to a continent as oppose to an abstract color.Others believe the term black is inaccurate because African Americans have a variety of skin tones.[citation needed] Surveys show that the majority of Black Americans have no preference for "African American" or "Black," although they have a slight preference for "Black" in personal settings and "African American" in more formal settings."

According to who?
The privilege list is nothing more than a moronic generalization of EVERYONE and it attempts to portray everything in a black or white manner rather than in the various shades of grey of reality. I cant help but think whatever crack pots conjured these lists up were so far removed from the life of the average person that it's appalling.

This notion is equal to children squabbling around the Christmas tree because little Timmy got a toy that little johnny didn't therefore he assumes his parents love him less.

I'm sure femalepharoe and Dr. Tatum are very nice.

I would like them more however if

(1) They would stop taking themselves so seriously

and

(2) Would stop telling us that white people are all racists but black people cannot be.

To an impartial 3rd party, for instance an Oriental, I suspect that femalepharoe and Dr. Tatum would come over as well, how do I put it, racist 'people of colour' against Caucasians.

Lazy is your word, I never used it. And like I said, the truth hurts sometimes. You choose to believe what you want and you are not open to other ideas what so ever. That is called being narrow minded. For example, you only chose to read the first paragraph only of one of my posts, totally neglicting to read the rest, which shows to me that it has to be "your way" or no way at all. Being narrow minded prohibits personal growth and that not only could pose as a problem for yourself but for others around you as well. Food for thought.

the amount of selective memory in here is oustanding.

this is what you said:

"The black unemployment rate is high because they don't want to work! Jesus age Christ!"

if someone does'nt want to work they are lazy. please don't try to play semantics with me , you will lose.
..perhaps bc as already stated , i do take myself seriuosly. and the world.

we are on the interenet talking about chem trails, illuminati, government control and race relations right? is this a joke?
