A lot of opinion here on ATS is surprisingly very much guided by mainstream propaganda. Very interesting.

Because the people who run this site are apart of the mainstream establishment, and they use this website as a tool to collect data on far right wing militamen and pot smoking leftists.

Funnily enough, if a Muslim dies, he has to wait till the end of time to go to Islamic heaven.

On the other hand, if a Muslim dies in jihad, he goes straight there, according to the Koran.

ah, so you also hate muslims too? Good to see that at least you have some consistency.

Sir you hate southeners and catagorize them and label them you sir are racist to any race from the south.

this is your comment.

I'm pretty sure that region's need to cling to conservatism, religion, racism, xenophobia, and being dumber than rocks has something to do with it.

Ah, but what I said was true. If left up to their own devices, southern states would welcome in a return to Jim Crow era lawmaking, like Ron Paul wants to bring back to the US.

Sorry if I hurt your fragile feelings.

And I am not "racist" towards southerners. Its just that some of them are holding this country back with their lack of intelligence and archaic beliefs.

Apparently the chosen one Obama's apologetic efforts have done nothing but inflame the extremists. Wow, didn't see that one coming!

Good point.

You are overlooking an important point however.

In the 1940s the Islamic world was under colonial rule. The British and French did a pretty good job of nipping Islamic extremist organisations in the bud.

Well, those countries aren't colonized anymore and Islam as a violent force, funded by oil money, is back.

Enjoy.

Nice you live in Turkey?

yes, and gladly so.

How does it feel to be neighbors with terrorists in the winter? When it is too cold for them to kill US soldiers. How does it feel to know your country realized it sucked, and started blowing Israel again to save face.

well, depends. US soldiers shouldn't be in their countries in the first place. an no, it is not turkey that blows israel. mind you, it is not turkey that is a zionist occuppied government. look for that blower elsewhere kthx.

Im glad Turkey has evolved out of the stone age, why dont you go help your Muslim brothers in another country, show them the love and preach the peace of Allah....

turkey was never in the stone age in the first place. this nation has over 30 historical civilizations of various sizes behind, alone the latest empire lasted for around 600 years, giving serious goosebumps to habsburg, charles quint, vatican etc. and turks prior to islam were shamanic. i'm a tengriist for example but i highly appreciate sufism. and no, our gov. does not preach in the neighboring countries, last time he visited egypt after the so called cia spring, our prime minister recommended secularism which the muslim bros have heavily opposed.

they would kill you too.... you dont submit to the 7th pillar... you are not a real Muslim..... oh they consider you on the same religious level as Scientology and Kaballah..... How many times do you pray a day... prob not 7... cuz they do over here.....

erm. yes, they would. afghan selefiyye does not tolerate ahl sunna w'al jamaat. nor do the saud. nor the muslim bros. they also don't tolerate any other sect but wahhabism & selefiyye. oil sheiks are promoting wahhabism, shia too have serious conflicts with them. sufist are perceived as infidels. like i said before, you're seeking the enemy in the wrong place.

and the number of daily prayers is 5 btw = morn, noon, afternoon, evenin and late evening.

In the US it is a crime to protect a criminal from the law.

fair enuff. i don't see anyone protecting criminals around here.

Do you know a christian somewhere who actually punctuates his sentences with
"in hoc signo vinces"?

I've never met one.

Lest we forget who truly is innocent or guilty.

To be fair though, it is a very good place to start looking.

It's a good place to start looking, I agree, as long as the search doesn't stop there. Wahabbism IS a big fat problem, but several other big fat problems try to hide behind it, pushing it forward, hoping against hope that we won't notice them because we already have our boogey man in the closet - i.e. wahabbism. For example, Iranian hard liners will point and point hard at wahabbists, hoping that we will take the bait and not notice that they too are fundamentalist extremists, albeit of a different sect.

What is fair to say is that most Muslims are no more fans of Islamic extrmists than you or I are. Nonetheless, some countries with large Wahhabi representation, do appear to be much more prone to produce Islamic terrorists.

That's true, there are a lot of muslims trying to step into the Age of Enlightenment and bring their religion along with it. The rest are giving them a bad name, however, and many - while not hard liners themselves - live as much in fear of the fundamnetalists as any non-muslim.

You funny little people arguing about religion. Religion has brought nothing but violence to this world. It's that insane blind faith that has driven people to start wars just because one people don't believe as they do. And here you all are doing the same thing as them and bickering back and forth about how much more violent Muslims or Christians are over the other. Get over yourselves and your religion. If you believe in it too much, you'll become as radical as they're all made out to be.

Now let the snarky, self-absorbed rebuttals begin.

The same could be said for ANY militant religion, including militant Atheism.

I don't think it's a matter of strong insane blind faith producing the violence as much as it is strong insecurity producing it. I find that the most insecure elements of any religion, whether Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Wicca, or Atheism are prone to go off the rails if they think their religion is being threatened.

It's a damned shame that the gods of those people are utterly incapable of handling themselves, and need weak sisters to handle stuff for them.

I mean, seriously now, what kind of threat can a mere mortal present to any real deity? If the answer is "none", then why are the adherents so insecure about it? If the answer is "this, that, or the other threat", then what are adherents doing worshiping a god that is weaker than they?

But yes, there are also some Christians around who need to figure out that "Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord, I will repay" means "don't fool around and get in my line of fire thinking you're helping. You're not, and that will only end badly for someone other than me".

In other words, it's not "faith" of any variety, religion or sect causing the problems, it is a LACK of faith that their god can handle his own problems, and needs them to deal with it for him.

Please leave him alone. He promotes love, peace and the understanding that not all individuals in a group are the same by heaping scorn and hate on entire groups of people via blanket statements.

It amuses me. It's so blatant and obvious that I have to wonder if he's not really some sort of evil genius trying too hard to provide his own negative example of what he's preaching against.

Of course they did! That is the exact reason they executed him in the street and not a single soul interfered! His "approval rating" was slightly higher than that of the US Congress at that time, which is something that the US Congress should give careful consideration to...

Ya , your right.

You wanna know what we should do?

We should get out of their countries and have nothing to do with them, let them deal with their own problems.

That will show them.
