Anyone know why they are not going after the detainees? The Detainees were the ones who wrote in the Quran in order to pass messages. Writing in the Quran is punishable by death.

But hey.. Why confuse the situation with facts when we can just get worked into a religious frenzy and kill whomever simply because the Taliban told us so.

Every time I see stories like this, and their reactions to them, makes me rethink my view that ME countries should have access to even just nuclear energy. Even more so when they just decide to Murder people that had nothing to do with the original issue

Personally I feel cremation is the best way to dispose off a dead body No need to spend money on real estate to let the lifeless body to rest. Remembering the deceased by visiting a tomb is not the only way to remember them. They always remain in our hearts and minds. Do away with the entire burial thing and free up the real estate everywhere where it is expensive to book a burial plot This way we do not have to worry about idiotic events like this one. I have always wondered as per how long the tombstones are kept in the same place in a cemetery. Theoretically wouldn't we run out of real estate eventually lets say if it was on a small island country? Just curious.

I think there was plenty of warning and urging not to burn the books because they were going to do exactly something like this.

Was there no other way to get rid of them than burning and pissing on them and making sure everyone knew about it?

I think there might have been another way.
They could have buried those books quietly but they were deliberately making a statement and going for a reaction. How evil is that? It is more stupidand antagonistic than anything else.

Don't forget we have desecration's of synagogs, anti Semitic graffiti and damage to Jewish Cemeteries here all the time. We even have black churches burned to the ground... but it doesn't mean we are all NAZI's here in America.

Things happen. People get pissed off. The only solution is to learn ways to quell anger and not ratchet it up. People automatically jump to "destroy the nest and kill the queen" when there are far better more organic options that will not come back and bite you in the buttocks later.

It's unacceptable for uneducated apes to be burning religious texts in public. They might not be important to you, but they are important to others, especially in some cases throughout the middle-east were people are unable to afford their own books to study. It is an insult.

Even though religion (as a whole) is part of the problem and the reason why all major conflicts/wars have started... people's property should be respected.
