I agree with you but find it hilarious you seem to be supporting the war monger in chief

Although my support of Obama is irrelevant to the discussion. I will only say this...Has Obama declared war on Iran?

That's all.

Thank you!

No US troops touched that ground in Libya. It was a UN resolution; a joint effort if you will. Nonetheless, Gaddafi was murdering dissidents. In my book, that requires intervention on some level.

Somewhere in the mix, folks started confusing the protection of innocents with war.

God forbid that the US ever use it's military power on it's citizens....no way we would want NATO forces to help us ordinary citizens defend against tanks, bombs, rockets and what not....

The world needs police....from 1st world all the way down to 3rd world. If not for compassion, then gawd help us all, as we are all doomed.

So few people understand the fact that the world, i.e., the United Nations, all agreed to limit nuclear weapons. It is not the United States that is objecting to Iran and Korea developing nuclear weapons. It's that the world, in effect, agreed that those who HAD nuclear weapons already would be able to keep them and those who DID NOT YET HAVE them would not be allowed to develop them. At the time of the agreement, the UN actually had some credibility and influence in the world.

The fuss arose because Korea and then Iran turned their backs on the long standing arrangement and are thumbing their nose at the rest of the world. This is why it was a coalition of nations that agreed to go after Iraq when it was thought (and I still maintain true) that Saddam was holding WMDs of some sort. There was news today that there is concern about Syria having WMDs, and I believe some of those came from Iraq prior to the 2003 war.

The world wide agreement to limit nuclear weapons is a long standing thing, and it should be a world wide body that enforces it. Unfortunately most of the world has forgotten history and lost their nerve and no one has the will or the guts to enforce the very treaties and agreements that have kept the world safe from nuclear detonations for the last 65+ years.

I remember growing up under the constant fear that it could all end in a second with a blinding flash. It was international cooperation and a sense of humanity that prevented that. The world in general has forgotten what true evil looks like over the past years, and it is unfortunately too true that no one cares to learn from history anymore. The U.S. may have been misguided when it went into Iraq. But that doesn't mean it's now time to turn our backs on the agreements of the past. The genie was out of the bottle by the time a dozen nations or more had nukes, but it was right to place limits and enforce them even at that late date. Allowing Iran and Korea to develop and possess nukes affects ALL the nations of the world, and all the nations of the world have a stake in the outcome. To say it's not the business of the United States or any other country is completely wrong. It is the business of every one of us to see that nuclear weapons do not spread any more than they have. If the United States is the only nation on the face of the earth that has the might and the will and the means to enforce international law, then at least there is one nation that will stand up for the rest.

I just hope the U.S. makes absolutely sure this time what it is doing. The world needs somebody to do the dirty work, and anymore there doesn't seem to be anyone else.

I do not want my grandchildren to spend their childhood waiting for that blinding flash like I did. Those of you that are too young to remember will probably continue to whine and villify those nations that will give their all to protect you from the nightmares my generation cannot forget and that you never knew.

lol my job doesn't make me nervous
And I'm not going into that - that's not what this thread is about - theres plenty of threads about that subject 1-2 I've posted on
Although I have been employed under NATO and UN they are not my usual handlers
And I'm not American !!!!!!! So please look past that
What does make me nervous is is the subject of what weapons Iraq may or may not of had
You go with what you've been told ( by the people and organisations that you know lie to you !! )
And I'll go with what I've seen and experienced FIRST HAND

But not all these 'barbarians' are in it just for their own gain
An example is Americas national security stance
It is ALL encompassing - not just about militairy invasion or threats , also economy ect ect EVERYTHING THAT MAY IMPACT ON AMERICAN LIVES AND PROSPERITY
If a country develops or does something that impacts America in a possible negative way it becomes a threat to security ie your way of life
Americans have become accustomed to a certain way of life - a way of life that's not shared by many
I'm sure you notice an up in prices is soon met with public protest - just a small example
Take Iran ( I believe they should be allowed nuclear power ) however WHO are they selling that tech to ? Who could they sell that tech to ?
Yes Iran may be trustworthy in some eyes but what about WHO they trade with ?
Why wait till Somalia ( a VERY troubled country ) develops nuclear capabilities even power that could easily fall into wrong hands because Iran sold them the tech
Who could Somalia trade this tech with ?
Global politics are bigger, deeper and much more complex that many even consider

Sorry for bit of a disjointed post but I'm more than a little distracted right now
And please don't think I'm bashing America - many nations are the same - but for way too many everything always seems to degenerate to Americas/Americans point of view so just using it as something you can get a handle on

Edit -
Maybe when and if I find myself bleeding out in deepest darkest ugaboogastan
I wont think about the barbarian leaders but the nations whose standard of life I'm dying for

I have no love for Iran, but I definitely have no love of murder in any form, for any reason...war included.

Are you suggesting that the US has used nukes post 9/11 or are you referring to the 3k dead from Pearl Harbor ?

So Pakistan, which IMHO is just as shaky as Syria, HAS nukes and has tested them in the past in the mountains between themselves and India during a pissing contest (or destroying ET bases, depending on who's telling the story
) doesn't get a second glance from anyone? We know North Korea and Pakistan have'em but only NK has tested an intercontinental delivery vehicle. Iran, who signed the non-proliferation treaty, is developing "peaceful nuclear energy" but was refuted by a "handpicked" group of UN inspectors. IDK. All I can think is follow the money. You know that Syria is a diversion. Soon the MSM will state that Iran is supplying arms/soldiers/info/fill in the blank to Syria.Who benefits from war with Syria/Iran? World Bankers? Israel? Russia?

I say get the hell out of the middle east, let them sort it out. If they come over here and not in the false flag sense, nuke 'em.
