News coverage of Iran's decision to continue with uranium enrichment in the face of the IAEA's request to suspend such activities.

news.bbc.co.uk
Iran has said it will not agree to halt uranium enrichment, despite the UN nuclear watchdog's call for a suspension of all such activities.

"Iran will not accept any obligation regarding the suspension of uranium enrichment," chief nuclear negotiator Hassan Rohani said.

It will also block snap sites checks if the issue goes to the Security Council.

So where does this leave us now I wonder ?
There is a quoted "suspicion" that Iran is developing the tech to support a weapons program ...

Hard call this one - I guess it probably doesn't much matter if there is a weapons program, if it's 'just' sabre rattling or something in between - it'll only put increased pressure on an already tense area.

The IAEA are set to review the situation again in late November 2004.
The text of the resolution is here: news.bbc.co.uk...

If I was the Iranian Government, I'd only agree to site checks if Israel and the USA agreed to the same.

There you go, a nuclear threat. That's just what Bush needs for invading Iran on his second term. It's just one big scheme!
