Hi OP,
If your current path not working for you I advise you trying yoga lessons. You can begin with a simple book about Hatha yoga and start at home or even better, find a yoga school in the neighborhood.

Its the best gift you can give yourself in this life.

Never give up, is all there and more.
Cheers

i agree wholeheartedly with you. youre trying to force these changes. when you meditate it relaxes you to make rational decisions and lets you know what you need to do. for some, its just getting sick over unhealthy foods suddenly. for others, they just start liking fruits and veggies and unfried foods a lot more. it comes as you grow with yourself. just stop, take a breath and approach it from an open, loving, true want for knowledge of yourself and the world. and one more tip. when you have a bad thought, just realize it and kick it out. tell it you have no room for bad thoughts and think of something good. that worked for me. i honestly have like 95% less unhealthy thoughts. you know, the when youre angry or just dont like someone. just be like nope, not today and think good. it works wonders and helps speed up good changes.

I'll keep it simple, if you are expecting results from meditation you are not going to get any..... Meditation should be just that quiet mind and body.... No thoughts.... No goal .... No purpose... and to keep this state for a long period of time. In my own experiences 1hour+ . No religious ideals or practices.. Just comfortable meditation.
Some of the results are on my avatar, which for 42 year old christian at the time was a surprise.
Never give in just stop trying so hard and REMEMBER..... meditation should have no goal or earthly parameter set by an expected event.

Good luck my friend and if all else fails remember my signature... relayed to me by the self, "You are the creator.... knowing is key, living is the lesson".

Practise seeing all as yourself! U might know why monks vote to stay quiet. I feel you man i been there i am currently trying to do OBEs

I used to meditate regularly, and I used to refrain from certain foods, alcohol, masterbation, ect. and all of the things that are considered to feed into the illusion of "being selfish." I have asked for answers in meditation and not received them. If I have received them, they are not in a way I can understand.

All I hear about on here are these success stories about how well people have done. I hear of people channeling, connecting to higher self, having OBE;s, ect. I am happy for them and wish them continued success, but I am throwing my hands up in the air. I have obviously done something wrong to never receive this help of any sort.

I admit to being human. I have a compulsive personality which caused me to drink a lot at one time, watch pornography, eat bad food, ect, but I made efforts to CHANGE that. I refrained from all of it for several weeks and meditated regularly. I did not experience significant results other than craving these things. I have regressed back to old habits, then tried this again, and then once again regressed. If I felt there were ANY hope, ANY light at the end of the tunnel, ANY love being received by higher self, group souls, or higher entities I would have motivation to keep going. As it stood, I was just starving for good food, sexually repressing myself, and craving all of the things that, while temporary, at least made me feel better.

I GET that the ego is strong and provides a false illusion of self. I GET that you have to look inward. I have admitted my flaws in life time after time, and I am even doing so again. At least with the ego it gives me SOMETHING. Without it I go a couple of months with trying to change and cannot. Maybe I need to wait longer, but I honestly do not believe I can in a world full of unhealthy eating habits, sex, drugs, and alcohol. To go even a couple of months refraining from these things shows that unlike 95% of society (at least in America) I do see the problem and am willing to TRY to change. I need help with it I guess. All i hear is that the majority of people on Earth will be reborn into this sort of existence with their built up karma, but why, when I attempt to change and ask for love which i am supposedly able to receive, do I not get it? I feel like it is all for nothing and that it is destined that i return and repeat this same cycle over again. At least unlike most I attempt to meditate, look within, help others, and seek guidance.

I will summarize by saying I am by no means perfect, but I do good things and do not understand why I am not worthy of receiving information that others on here discuss they have received naturally for a long time (and again, I'm happy for THEM. i just wish i could understand more). I have made bad decisions in life at times but come a long way and faced a lot of issues head on. I'm a social worker at a behavioral facility for older adults at the age of 24 and I go out of my way to help these people all the time. I guess I feel like I'm some sort of bad person who extend his hand out for guidance only to be scoffed at and left with nowhere to turn.

a social worker for behavioral therapy and your addicted to porn & eating bad foods????????????? WTF? what kind of behavioral therapy are you giving your clients?? good god your post made me sick.

Did you ever think it takes someone who has been in the shoes of someone else to help them out? Unlike you, I have been able to admit my flaws and work on them. You sit here and throw stones and I am sure it is from a glass house. The amount of progress I have made for someone who was diagnosed at one time with ocd is something I am proud of, but it continues to be a work in progress since no one is perfect. (except for you, of course)

As for what kind of social worker I am? I'm a damn good one. Thanks for your opinion, regardless of how much I disagree with it.

Its because they are like the people who "feel jesus" lol . Its all in the mind. Those people let the lollipop world of oneness and obe's eat at their minds , WIth all the meditating they do , they buy into the illusion.

Kinda like the budda and "enlightenment" he didn't really reach anything except the influx of chemicals in his bodies , to give him illlusion of any sort of "nirvana" .

Meditiation is great to calm your body down , make your head clear , and make you feel good . The mind thanks you for it .

But its nothing more then that . No matter how much you try . Buddists die trying to achieve these things , because they hear of others who have.

But nobody has . Its just good meditation and philosophy nothing more. The rest comes out of what you do with that , and how you let it effect your life.

The reason your frustrated is because your chasing something that doesn't exisit. Thats a sign your body is saying , thats all there is champ lol.

just stick to meditation and using that to stay calm positive etc , and the philosophy to help you get some euphoric feelings , and your good.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the people who you see put posts up about there experinces , are just full of them selfs . trying to sell something they confused for reality .

good luck, then when you can't reach anything close to what they have . they say

"keep trying , your not doing it right"

"it takes long time"

"don't worry just keep at it , it'll come eventually "

lol

Most amusing post so far.
Its OK to be cynical but not to make that into your religion.
A permanent Nirvana may not exist. God may not want such a thing.
However everyone is not at the same level of consciousness.

If you had sat at the feet of a Enlightened Being for one minute
you would have a different perspective. I have. Sometimes
they communicate by talking. But their very Presence communicates
that state of Oneness. Sometimes they transmit their energy directly
to their devotees.

For the OP and all.
Nobody can do meditation.
Meditation proceeds by way of Grace.
Grace is Always Already Given.
You simply need to learn how to receive it.

There is No Effort whatsoever involved in Grace.
No trying, No straining,No frustration,No doing.
Grace is not an experience. Grace is prior to
experience.

All this is explained in The Knee of Listening
and The Method of the Siddhas and
NOWHERE ELSE.

Here are some easy steps to get the most out of your meditation!

If you eat pork wait a day or 2 after to meditate.

Don't take in large amounts of sugar. Stop caffeine intake if possible.

Keep electrolytes up!

Try to fast every few months. Do a whole month of nothing but eggs, fish, shrimp meats like that eat plenty of carbohydrates.

Always stay hydrated if drinking gatorade for electrolytes. drink some water aswell. Both are needed.

Only use milk for cereal. Meditate when you know you have time and feel mentally relaxed almost like you could think fro a couple of hrs about stuff. Just kinda drift away.

Everyone sees those moods time and again and they are the best to meditate.

Stop pop! Drink water and juice. Eat fruits and vegetables. Fast every now and again. Wait a day or 2 after pork to meditate.

You can meditate after eating pork but u'll never go anywhere.

OP, I do not like leaving my body, I do not like having lucid dreams, and I have met the Serpent that is connected to Kundalini practices. I used to have constant visions and hear voices to such an extent that conversations while alone were quite often. I have since realized the nature of those avenues as coming from a dimension that is not where I want to be so I cut them off as much as I can. However, and I say this lightly because I am not encouraging you, I just have not seen anyone mention yet if you have cleansed your body enough of the chemicals that Society has been so happy to dump in our food and water.

Take Fluoride for instance; have you taken measures to eliminate Fluoride and products with Fluoride out of your life? I don't mean two weeks, but rather years of proactive remedies such as filtered water and non-Fluoridated toothpaste (even the slightest amount will find its way to your pineal gland).

What about medications? Are you on any meds, or have you taken meds in regards to your OCD? Were you one of those children who was subjected to such controlling measures to get you to focus?

What about exercise? Do you walk often?

What about body products that are meant to be used on the skin? Deoderants? Lotions? These are full of chemicals and metals such as aluminum, most of which make their way to the brain and are accummulative in nature to the recipient.

Do you live inner city? Smog, pollution, car exhaust?

What about polyethylene plastics? What about teflon?

The reason I mention these things because each and everyone of them can potentially prevent your natural abilities to come forward. I say natural because I know I was born the way I am, I don't like it, although I am happy to say that my last lucid state was a much more "promising" expression albeit unwanted none-the-less.

Personally, I know addictions, and I know OCD on levels that have brought me to being manic and obsessed. I know demons and I know the falsehoods they create. I have even been prescribed anti-psychotic medications as solutions, but I have persevered by being adamently against them. I did manage to quit smoking in 2006 (after 25 years) by way of Wellbutrin but could only handle it for 12 days, then I had to stop. I realized really fast that it "cut me off" of my "extra" realities and I would not hear of it at the time.

Do you smoke? I mean cigarettes of course.

What about junk food? Do you eat packaged foods or do you prepare your meals by way of recipes and wholesome products?

I do hope you realize soon that "doing good for others" is a element of what is referred to as "works", and there is no Dharma for this life, you do realize that right? Any Kharma you are living out now is only going to benefit you outside of this life; the building of Dharma which gives you your Kharma for your next existence. Doing good is a good thing, but it will not directly open you to a better life as a means to a reward now, not in the manner I hear you say it; I mean, naturally goodness begets goodness, and it is a good thing, but it cannot be used in the manner I think you described; through "works".

What I am ultimately getting at is the hardwiring, those pathways that get clogged (mostly on purpose by tptb in an attempt to constrain the soul from growing and learning properly). There are ways to undo the mess. Iodine therapy, for instance, can cleanse the glands by keeping them "full", and then ultimately loosening the debris that has built up (although do not do any therapies without fully understanding them, especially not because I said so).

What about Binural Beats? Brain wave therapy?

OK, I guess I mentioned quite a bit that I don't think has been addressed yet; perhaps everyone is assuming you're are at your optimal albeit slightly abusive in the realm of porn and alcohol and such.

I think it is fair to say that one year off of each potentially crippling avenue might help eleviate the problem you have at "reaching" those areas of dimensions you are trying to reach.

Of course there is the process of "Repentence"; by way of opening yourself to the Holy Spirit, but I think you already mentioned you are against that sort of avenue.

Goodluck to you, Bless you, and don't forget to say a Prayer, even if it is to the Father Sky and the Mother Earth; I am a firm believer in Prayer.

Sometimes, and I think this was stated, when we try too hard we often miss the mark, it is when we stop trying that the unexpected takes place!

1) everyone's abilities are different, one may be able to channel another may be intuition.

2) sounds like your trying to hard. The principle of a spiritual path is giving up all desires and beliefs.
Your believing that if you do this, this ill happen..

3) Look up Kundalini and practice that from of mediation. Understand the initiation at the beginning with evil spirits, that can be quite a unpleasant experience if you dont know whats going on.

4) just live your life, and it shall come to you. its not an over night process

5) as the above poster said, cleanse your body. Learn that basically anything you buy from the shops is flooding your body with harmful toxins. All the toxins hinder any spiritual progression.

And dont expect to be able to make these changes straight away.
It took me about 3 years just to eliminate 80% of the toxins ingested from supermarket products.
When i go out, i bring my own dinner and lunch packed, no take away. I bring clean spring water in a bottle, while all my mates go eat their "Mac Donnalds" and trans-fatty pizza's. Hey everyone thinks your a weirdo at first, but i refuse to ingest the chemicals alone in Maccas, they soon learn to except it and start becoming conscious of what they eat themselves

The cleanse is considered the first step to awakening the "Kundalini Energy" so this is very important for your desires.

Society has done a good job of making this extremely difficult!

I respect your work a lot OP. But in my opinion what you're doing wrong is your trying to follow a form of a doctrine that actually doesn't sit right with your 'core', your ego, your inner being, your higher self, whatever they call it.

What I'm saying is, you need to find your own way, not listen to someone else's instructions for finding a better life, or a way to 'ascend'. Not trying to say that it is wrong to read and learn of different ways, but consider taking them at an inspirational value only. Play in your mind with what you have read, mix your thoughts and opinions around while meditating.

Oh and, I don't think you mentioned how you practice your meditation, but you've gotta find your own way to do that too. The way I do it is by taking a walk in a nearby forest, walking aimlessly from trail to trail while following my thoughts, and occasionally I find a nice stone to sit down onto and light a cigarette and just let my mind wander. Now this is my own way, there never were any instructions to tell me to do it this way, I only follow my 'instincts'. I spent a great deal of time playing in the woods when I was a child, now I find it a place where I feel secure and comfortable. I suggest you try to find a place with a similar value to yourself.

To sum it all up, there is no correct way to do these things, you need to find your own 'path', and that path is not to be found in any book or the internet.

The only problem you have is not liking yourself. The chances are that you give yourself a lot of grief and you tell yourself off all the time, you think you are bad. Thinking you are bad makes you feel bad.
The human race all belong to the 'Be Good' religion. Humans fear 'Bad'. A lot of humans think deep down that they are bad and they are ashamed, they fear that someone might find out how bad they really are. They try really hard to be good.
Humans feel ashamed of themselves because society wants you to be good. You have been trained to accept some things and reject others.
Don't critize the character that you see in the mirror, just watch him and be with him.

The only real cure is to look at yourself directly to find out what you really are.
You are not your addictions, you are not your past. What you are is right here and right now without any past thought or future thought. Without past or future - can you be bad?

And while we are talking nutrition and OCD, you should eliminate all
mercury and aluminum. (mercury silver fillings, too much fish, baking powder products have aluminum)

You do realise that your physical body is nothing more then a fleshy sack of salty sugar water do you not? So then you must agree that for electrical currents to pass through you your chemical compounds must be balanced correctly to allow ether currents to be passed and translated through and to you.

Basically you have to make your body the philosophers stone. Which is basically just water reminescent to gold. Which is the most conductive. Any elite, secret society member in the government knows that before they can perform a ritual correctly they must fast. Why? Something in the meat blocks certain passges in the body.

It's all electricity!

It was said that John the Baptist was ascetic but that Jesus consorted with winebibbers and gluttons and
came eating and drinking.
Someone was talking to Adi Da telling him you couldnt be spiritual and smoke cigarettes, so Adi Da
started chain smoking cigarettes while transmitting Shaktipat (Divine Grace) to everybody blowing
their minds.
