If it were Greece who had the single largest military on the known planet, with by far the most ordinance and destructive capability of any other country ten times over, America and every other country would pretty much be handing over there gold to the Greeks international banking monopoly.

But its not Greece who has any of those things, Its America.

And if the Empire is in trouble you better believe those who are not in a position to refuse will very much be handing over there gold to help keep the Empire solvent OR you will get bombed until you do hand over your gold.
