Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says the Iranian nation has never sought and will never seek nuclear weapons as it has the capacity to challenge the nuclear-backed influence such powers rely on.

In a Wednesday meeting in Tehran with the director and officials of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) and nuclear scientists the Leader described the country’s nuclear and technological achievements further in line with national interests and beneficial for the future of the country.

“The Iranian nation has never pursued and will never pursue nuclear weapons,” said Ayatollah Khamenei.

That's not saying however that Iran has not bought full capacity weapons from outside sources.

Or that that they don't have control of some nukes in a remote location out of Iran.

I see no reason for him to lie about it, since it should be obvious to him and everyone else that the Israeli & US politicians won't believe it anyway (or care, in the event that nuclear weapons aren't really the issue - which I don't think they are since North Korea effectively dropped off our radar after they got the nuke..."HEY! You're the Axis of Evil, you can't have nukes! Oh, well, you've got them now. OK, carry on...").

And you bring up a good point I never bother with, even though I should - the whole hoopla about a nuclear program IS a bit ridiculous given the fact that they could be acquired otherwise. Do we even know how many nukes went missing after the collapse of the USSR? Didn't some come up missing on a cross-country transport here at home some years back? Didn't one of our Cali ports detect likely nuclear/radiological weapon of some sort having had passed through some years back as well?

If Iran really wanted nukes, which I honestly don't think they do as I will stand by my position that they are not suicidal and would lose much more than they'd gain but such an attack, there are other ways for them to get them aside from an arduous and attention-drawing process like a covert program - and even then, does anyone really want to try to build and deploy their own nukes without testing them to make sure they work? And isn't nuclear testing (and the resultant explosions and all that)...well, pretty much noticeable by everyone?

If you think about it the war America would wage against them for shooting one at Israel is pale in comparison to what the Muslims themselves would do to them. There is a chance The Dome of the Rock could be destroyed and fallout could reach as far as Mecca. Iran would become a wasteland.

Muslims do not care about the Dome of the Rock, that is a lie from the pits of hell. Their sacred site is the Kaaba at Makka, in fact they point their asses at al-Aqsa when they pray to the Idol of Hu'bal in the Kaaba. They claim to originally have built it to honor the jews but any historian can tell you that when Islam conquers an nation or kingdom, they go and build a mosque on that kingdom's holiest site to make a statement that they now own that area which is a slap in the face and an insult to the "infidels".

Just like when 9/11 happened, they built a mosque right next to where the attacks happened to insult the U.S. and Obama allowed it because he is a closet muslim. Obama's father was a muslim. In Islam if the father is a muslim the children are automatically born muslim, therefore Obama is a muslim, his mother had no say in it. Ever wonder why you never see a muslim woman marry a non muslim man? Because her muslim father will kill her in an honor killing. Her child would be born a christian or whatever the father was.

possibly determine that by the amount of countries invaded for the good of the civilians that die in the process of giving them their freedom

The ones you can't believe are the ones who have the most to gain, and who have already stated they want to destroy Israel and fund Hamas and Hezbollah. In the case where you have liars involved you look at the facts and ignore what either side say. Actions speak louder than words.

so you are saying that when Iran says they dont want a nuke they are lying, yet when they say they want to blow Israel of the map they are telling the truth.

Is it a common practice to cherry pick truths?

strange how this thread had such promise and died very quickly when logic was put in place
