And you are not aware that the Muslims were most merciful during the crusades. Salahdin ring any bells? Remember the Christian crusaders resorted to cannabalism? And your numbers are off with the hundreds of millions killed by Muslims, I bet that number carries a hefty part that the Vatican ordered.

It is your INTERPRETATION of the Quran that tells you its about murder. That says something about you and those others that kill in the name of the Quran!

Interestingly logic on your part.

Are you aware that

violent Jihad makes up

• 24% of the Medinan Koran,
• 21% of the Hadith and
• 67% of the Sira.

Statistical Islam

Altogether 31% of the trilogy is devoted to spreading Islam by the sword.

I am glad that you have choosen to ignore the violent Jihad nature of the Medinan Koran and Hadith. However, modern day Jihadists have not.

Muhammad led a 'perfect' life, according to Islamic doctrine.

To emualte his deeds means a Muslim also leads a perfect life.

:shk: My daughter is adopted from South America.

I showed that you were dead wrong. Hundreds of millions haven't been killed by the Catholic church. Not in Europe. Not in the Crusades. And, since you bring it up, not in South America. You were WRONG. Admit it. You SHOUTED 'HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS' ... and that was just total BS.

Dude. You're in IRAN. If you don't like their laws then GET OUT.

Dude, He didn't break any laws. Didn't you read the thread?

From an outsiders perspective it certainly seems to demonize Iran.

So Iran is putting to death an innocent man, and causing his family all sorts of torment ... but somehow that means that the rest of the world is the bad guy because they are talking about how Iran is wrong? You seriously can't see how backwards that is???

Apparently ATS has forgotten the crusades.

Apparently you have forgotten that this is 2012 and that the crusades happened hundreds and hundreds of years ago.

No they do not. Most 'knowledgeable Christians' understand that Muhammad was a mass murdering thief and liar. The history on him is very clear. He was no 'prophet'. Not by a long shot. Nothing 'holy' about him.

What an idiotic post. I can tell you're one of those bleeding heart liberals who hates every religion but a minority religion. You're just that kind of guy.

But the quote from you above, you know that they immigrate into various western countries right? You know they CONTINUE to act like they do when they're in their own country although they moved to a western country right? In Norway, women are being raped and beaten up because they're not Muslim.

So we don't simply hate "Iran for being Iran", we hate "Muslims being Muslims". Their religion is where Christianity was 1000 years ago. And you're right, they've had every chance to grow like the rest of us - But they chose NOT TO. What does that tell you?

Wow...the majority of posts on this thread are just shameful, they all spread anger and hate. Seriously why aren't you guys forgiving each other, why aren't you trying to build bridges, why aren't you trying to make friends ?

You would also think that both the MSM and most of the general public would have learned to think before they speak, reporting on such an issue is just raw war mongering, why do such a thing?

I just dont see why all religions cant just 'be' , why do they need to encroach one another, it doesn't have to be that way in my opinion.

Im really not sure why i cant, i dont know if its something to do with me as an individual on a genetic or self determined basis or if we are as a 'tabula rasa' it could mean my hindrance joining 'the real world' would be due to a lack of a specific stimulus that wasn't present in my environment. As you have diagnosed me with such a condition i would logically conclude that it is you who are most qualified to tell me why i have such a condition. Please do.

Muhammad made it clear that there could be no equality between religions.

Because when it comes to religion and the afterlife, the different religions (not all) want to think they are the ones who hold the keys to heaven. I want to know when and where it was determined God is a religion.

Going to war over religion is like fighting over who has the better imaginary friend.

It's funny you say that. God use to be a universal concept that was used to bridge the gaps of language and culture. Then came along a few A-hole´s, made it exclusive to their "club" and commenced to criticize the other clubs for their various lack of perks and privileges.

Christians, oh we are the true club, all other clubs are untrue.
Jews, Oh, we were the first club, and so we are not posers, you guys are posers.
Islam, no wait you guys got it all wrong. We have a new super star on the scene and he is really cool.
Christians, no our super star is the hottest and beats all other super stars.
Jews, no, no, our super star will be the best, just wait and see.

ME, STFU

God didn't speak to any of you, since I can hear him and he is cool with all of us and doesn't have any particular fan club he favors.

He likes Jews, Christians, and yes, even Muslims, since by all your dumb club´s charters it says he made all people. so STFU and stop hating on each other, you bunch of fan boys having hissy fits over the evil of the other.

Hell, he might even like his critics. I don't mind mine. They make for fun conversation and I can even forgive them, who says God cant.

so just stop. It's dumb. Unless you like seeming like 14 YO girls to the rest of the rational world.

I see you have your own definition for the term, "prophet". I imagine if I claimed Obama to be a "president" you would shout back that he isn't, and that in fact he is a socialist leader of a fascist regime.

"If you don't count some of Jehovah's injunctions, there are no humourists in the Bible." -M.Richler

You quoted one of my favourites.

The pastor contravened his place under submission to the laws of Shariah. I appreciate that Iran is so clearly demonstrating that the Jews they hold up as examples are living in their rightful place in submission, and the pastor they are putting to death is not.

Their clarity stands as an excellent example of what Shariah is. I am mighty greatful for the clarity they bring to the discussion.

And people bitch about how illegitimate it is to cite PressTV, while using Foxnews to fan the flames

I wouldn't believe this story if it was the last news agency on earth. This guy probably has been charged for something, and probably is going to be executed, but I sure the hell would never pollute myself by reading the whys and hows of the story from the right-wing American jingoist propaganda rag.

So is PressTV an illegitimate source?

Fox is........

Say what?

What sort of "Christians" have you been hanging out with? I've been a lot of places, hung out with a lot of people of all sorts, and never, not once, have I met a Christian that claims Mohammed was a prophet. The whole "Alpha and Omega" thing sort of precludes that. Even those who think that "prophet" just means someone who speaks for God, and could be applied to a regular preacher just preaching out of the Bible don't believe Mohammed had any connection with God.

"That's too cool! You're going to avoid debating on history by bringing up... history!"

Since when does the Deluge and the Fall of Jericho qualify as verifiable history? I simply cited a theological reference to confirm the basis for my initial post. If the afor mentioned stories qualify as history then I musta' missed a day or two, huh?

Yup, you musta missed something. "Verifyable history" or not, neither has anything at all to do with a 21st century execution citing Islamic laws as the basis in 21st century Iran.

This always strikes me as odd. Whenever someone wants to justify or whitewash modern Islamic barbarity, or even simply sweep it under the rug and direct attention away from it, they seldom ever fail to cite barbarity alleged to have been perpetrated by some other religion, usually Christianity, way back in the murky mists of antiquity.

It's amazing that they think there is enough connection there, either temporal, religious, or social, to somehow make that argument work.

Going to war over religion is a tacit admission that one's imaginary friend is indeed IMAGINARY. Think about it - what sort of deity would require mere mortals to do his killing for him? What sort of a god can't defend himself, and instead has to have weak mortals defend him?

A WEAK god, that's what sort. If one has to protect his god, then he is much stronger than said god, and therefore should in all logic force that god to worship HIM.

I've never in my whole life had a god tell me that I have to defend him or else, because he can't quite handle it on his own. Why would any one follow such a weak deity?

Not 'my own' .. but a common sense one. No one who murders and lies and fakes visions from God is a prophet. That person is just another stink'n politician .... and instead of being a holy man or prophet, is just someone with a black soul.
