For the few of you who may be following this, this is a massive development in a region that I have been watching closely for quite sometime.

It all started with a law that breezed through congress and moved swiftly on to Obama's desk back in 2010 (Lord's Resistance Army Disarmament and Northern Uganda Recovery Act of 2009) that authorized the deployment of US Spec. Ops forces to kill or capture the Leader of the LRA, Joseph Kony. Our troops were recently deployed back in October 2011. Its been tight lips ever since.

Here is a thread on that topic I posted in November.
www.abovetopsecret.com...

Back in January I posted a thread regarding the escalating threats in Sudan and new threats of Jihad

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Later that month the Al Shabaab terror network in Somalia announced a new pledge of Allegiance with Al Qaeda.

Our Spec ops troops are moving swiftly to rescue American hostages from Somali Pirates. We are getting all US assets out of dodge.

Now the latest update states that our spec ops troops are now in 4 Countries on the hunt for the LA

NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) -- A top military official says that U.S. troops are now deployed in four central African countries as part of U.S. efforts against a brutal rebel group called the Lord's Resistance Army.

Rear Adm. Brian L. Losey, the top U.S. special operations commander for Africa, said Wednesday that U.S. troops are now stationed in bases in Uganda, Congo, South Sudan and the Central African Republic.

The U.S. announced in October it was sending about 100 U.S. troops - mostly special operations forces - to central Africa to advise in the fight against the LRA and its leader Joseph Kony.

Losey said officials are already seeing a decrease in the lethality of LRA actions, which he thinks is part of the pressure the U.S. and partner countries are applying.

hosted.ap.org...

Another Silent War in an effort to secure a region that is waiting to have its oil and mineral resources harvested. The investors are in play and ready for a safe area to work. The R2P group and the International Crisis Group are succeeding in their efforts to spread their grip and to improve the quality of life for the long ravaged populations there. R2P Doctrine and the Obama Doctrine are officially in full Swing.

Watch Syria Fall into the hands of the radical Muslim Brotherhood soon just like Egypt and Libya. It would appear that we are about to surrender our full interest in that area with a new focus on untapped resources. We are on the run to beat the Chinese in a battle for resources. Smells like Vietnam all over again.

The early indicators are uncanny when compared to Vietnam. The communists took over S.Vietnam when we pulled out. Who will take over Iraq now? It's not the girl scouts. How about Afghanistan next year? More of the same.

We have US boots on the ground in a ravaged egion that has been ignored by the international community for over 20 years and we've got FOB's set up in 4 countries that have been at the center of the chaos for all of those years. Hmmm...

Meanwhile, all eyes are focused on Iran. The best time for the US to ever strike Iran was 30 years ago. Iran may just play out as a distraction. We'll see if this gets any serious attention. Doubtful, given the downplay its received since Obama and Congress gave the green light 2 years ago. The green light that opened the door to pursue the LRA wherever they may go.

The key word is 'RESOURCES'

Ever since evolution, battles have been fought just for that. Food, Water, Territory...Women

However nowadays, it is the tactics that keeps everyone occupied and wondering as per what next?

Lets see what 2012 brings

Sometimes foreign intervention is justified. Nobody else is helping these people and they've been terrorized for 20 years without anyone giving a $!*@

I agree. The tragedy and crimes are mind bending. But why now after 25 years of ignoring this region? The UN has been dabbling there for quite some time and we have been sending money also. Hollywood built the Darfur Bandwagon that soon crashed and lost its wheels. Nothing.... when compared to the tactics used by the LRA. Some seem to think that Kony is just another fabricated bad guy for us to go chase. An excuse to drop troops in the dirt. This seems to be all for oil. Blood oil. Just like the blood diamonds.

There are strings attached to what we are seeing. Armed Advisers in 4 countries... Flashback to 1961 when we sent 400 Green Beret advisers into South Vietnam. 100 modern spec ops troops and their equipment, tactics and resources are nearly equal to 400 green berets in 1961. USSOCOM is going to be very busy... and my head is aching.

Nice thread

I read about this awhile ago but didn't know much more until the whole Kony video started making its rounds. How is the USA going to find this guy if the Africans can't in their own territory and he's been missing for years?

And if it is for resource purposes, it could easily be psy-op'd into making you look like a child killer if you don't support it.

I don't know enough about the situation to form an opinion on it yet.

Rubbish......they are there to clear the way for NATO to take control of Africa's oil fields and natural mineral resources now that they'll need them as plans for a confrontation with Iran becomes closer - meaning it will have a major affect on world oil resources!

Yes it is, but not from the west and not with our money. There are 56 countries in Africa, so there is more than enough manpower to deal with it.

That video is one hell of a propaganda piece created by the Obama Admin. no doubt. He needs support desperately for what is about to come before us.

Out with old large scale invasions and encampments In with the small insertions and drone strikes.

MUST READ

Barack Obama’s military triumphs will come neither in long wars nor even short ones, but in a series of raids. His vision of our military appears to require cutting the overall defense budget sharply, but maintaining and increasing Special Forces capabilities. Recently we learned of a “mothership” or floating base for small high-speed boats and helicopters that SEALs and other Special Forces elements would use. In other words, Obama is leaning away from the old “two war” or “one and a half war” capabilities toward a new idea: American soldiers as raiders, undertaking one-day or one-hour attacks. Americans have long excelled in such combat (think of Rogers’ Rangers in the French and Indian War)but these tactics most often reflected weakness and necessity—or were a small part of a far larger military, rather than the product of a decision to abandon it.

Infuriating to be sure, for the military, but divulging the secrets is at the very heart of the Obama Doctrine. Secret operations gain the president no credit. Revelation of the completed operations is the whole point, demonstrating Obama’s courage and his commitment to yesterday’s deeds. The trouble with wars like Iraq and Afghanistan is that they commit you to doing risky things tomorrow, when you may wish to give a speech about health care or jobs. Thus the beauty of the Obama Doctrine. “Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill,” might go the paraphrase of John Kennedy, “that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, a day at a time, so long as what is required of us will be over by tomorrow morning, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty.”
