Too bad for tomorrow - original

Hey everyone this is a demo me and my friend are working on, all original material.

our band name is "as lights go by"
the song is "too bad for tomorrow"





The lyrics are

boil water, leave them vapors,
light the torch and pass them embers,
take the laughter, leave them crickets,
take the love and leave them wicked.

I don't want kids they'll just hate me,
for the future we created,
daddy's weak and could not fight them
didn't even try to stop them.

burn the earth and breath the ashes,
eat the life and toss the extras,
were to blame for all misfortune,
were the ones who let this happen.

all we want is newer gadgets,
bigger buildings, stronger weapons.
think of the kids that are cold and starving,
they would kill for the scraps you leave on the bone.

Really liked the song. Congratulations! I'm not too familiar with the genre but I am always keen on finding out more about bands. What are some of your musical influences if you wouldn't mind me asking?

Again, really good work and thanks for sharing. Always nice to hear some music written by ATS members.

hey thanks that's one of my favorite lines too.

As for influence, its a huge list haha.

but some of my favorites are

-skinny puppy
-the tear garden
-the doors
-sisters of mercy
- a whole array of crappy 80's music
-classical music like Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, Bach
-vnv nation
-even some rap like notorious big.
^ once I have more songs up you can definitely see the hip hop influence in my drums.

Ah nice, got some bands to check out tonight and listen to while browsing. I know what you mean though, sometimes it's hard to pin-point your influences when your music draws from such a wide variety.
