That's why it's best to sell bars to bullion dealers rather than the average jeweler or 'scrap merchant' on the high street.

You'll get closer to market prices going through a dealer.

I wouldn't sell then to average Joe across the street. As i mentioned above i would get them certified and assayed in London. I would then keep them for as long as i needed/required then either pass them through the family or sell them to a jeweler.

Silver will soon be rarer than Gold, its the strongest investment by a mile at the moment!
