It has come to my attention That We here in America are headed to one of these extremes in Government. The Divide in our country is becoming more and more greater. We have the Republicans on the right and the Democrats on the left. I also find it coincidentally that republicans tend to be more in Rural and Country areas where social values are important. And in big crowded mulch-cultural Progressive Cities the overwhelming majority seems to be democrat. But to highlight on my post I believe that Capitol-ism is becoming less and less likely and it is leading to one of these extremes. Fascism or Socialism. If we give the Current Republicans control i believe it is inevitable that Fascism will be the outcome. Every single republican nominee on the Ticket Especially Santorum is leading the country to fascism. And Obama seems to have a very socialist agenda. As the years progress the candidates are becoming more and more extreme and until things are reverted i believe that one of these outcomes are inevitable

What is Fascism? Well we think of Nazi Germany when we think of fascism. Alot of you here on ATS seems to believe that we are headed to complete fascism. According to Wikipedia Fascism is a radical authoritarian nationalist political ideology. Fascists believe in single-party state that seeks the mass mobilization of a nation through discipline, indoctrination, physical education, and eugenics. Which seems to be the Case America seems to have only one party as most candidates these days seem to be carrying out the same agenda. The Defacto religion of our nation is Christianity, our schools are nothing more than a indoctrination assembly and people with opposing beliefs are feared and frowned upon

What is Socialism? Well most Republicans call Democrats socialists again Wikipedia Defines Socialism as an economic system characterized by social ownership or control of the means of production and cooperative management of the economy and a political philosophy advocating such a system. "Social ownership" may refer to any one of, or a combination of, the following: cooperative enterprises, common ownership, direct public ownership or autonomous state enterprises. A couple of Obamas policy seems to echo some points of socialism with the Wall Street bailouts, The Auto Sector bail out and his new reforms which seem to give the government more control and sway over businesses.

Now we are not that far from either of these radical forms of government and believe it or not we are headed there it is up to me and you to determine the course we take. Either one of the lesser evils or we revert back to our old ways in which the Constitution determined. See the constitution was developed to prevent extremes in government and as long as we allow our politicians to continue to dismantle, ignore, and do away with the constitution we will be living in one of these ISMs

I've always considered what is construed as Socialism these days to be the retarded sister of Marxism and the spawn of the marriage made in hell of Communism and Leninism. Socialism in it's truest form, implies social ownership or citizen ownership where all citizens are stakeholders in the country. We don't have that in Canada and you certainly don't have that in the US. We will never have that as long as our political systems remain unchanged.

Fascism is what is in place right now through a corporate/feudal oligarchy in the West. That would be corporatism (as coined by fascist Mussolini, but ownership inverted) or corporate ownership of the government and the debt slave citizens. Make no mistake, the government is a corporation in the strictest legal sense and as you may well know from working, corporations are not democratic, they are dictatorships. Just try telling your boss you just don't feel like coming in today, but you expect to get paid anyway.

Democracy is joke, it is the power of a slight majority to wield an axe over the slightly less of a majority. Democracy allows a criminal few in politics and corporations to easily control the outcomes of elections and political decisions, it's a scam! Democracy, when it fails generally leads to a dictatorship and/or fascism, in any event a totalitarian state since it eventually polarizes the citizens into specific "camps" and that results in civil war. The power vacuum in that case is generally filled by a dictator, who is a sociopathic populist with charisma that shortly after taking power goes seriously "south."

The US had the right idea all along, a republic built on equal laws and fair treatment for all of it's citizens. Real simple it works and if you don't like it because you can't corrupt a good system, then you can leave or not go to the US in the first place. Unfortunately, the government has been pushing that the US is a democracy, which it was never meant to be, and consequently have made people believe that politicians have the right to change the original ground rules that formed the United States, WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF THE PEOPLE. Only the PEOPLE, collectively, have the right to change the way the US is operated. Not the representatives, not the career politicians, not the president/leader, not the corporations, not the religious groups, not foreign governments or UN through treaty, only the citizens as a collective.

Well, this can't end well, because you can only fool people for so long before the penny drops (the only one left in their pocket after the corporate/banking rape). Civil war is coming, it will most likely be everywhere and it won't be pretty. So the only choice you have is choosing the means to survive the chaos or choosing to do nothing. You have the choice to be a survivor or a victim.

I can't remember who said it but, "For evil to prevail, good men need only do nothing."

Cheers - Dave

Your right because the country is currently steering right, Obama is more towards the center his constant appealing to both sides shows this. We are not Fascist yet but we are headed there but this can change if we elect someone who is anchored at the constitution

No it isn't -- that is one of the dumbest most ignorant stances of the the right wing. It reflects poorly on your understanding of history and political theory.

You can be a socialist and not be on the far left. You cannot be a communist unless you are on the far left. Am I wrong?

You have to look at socialism as to who provides roads water fire police protection food inspection health and safety labor - etc etc. I you want to live in a society that doesn't provide for these things than Somalia is your paradise. In other words once a population gets together and finds that there are things that can exist for the common good than you are a socialist nation. The socialism that the yammering goes on about is probably when the state takes control of production. I don't see that on the horizon - on the other hand the yammerers are also calling blame to be placed on the government for the cost of gasoline. In the current state where oil and oil products have become a global commodity; the only way to control the price would be to nationalize oil production.. that would be socialism at a higher level. I'm sorry guys you can't have it both ways.

Are regulations saying that the producers of tomatoes have to make certain that their products are not slathered with e. Coli be for being sent to the local grocer. Now if we don't have those regulations I am certainly able to do the test to confirm that the tomato I bought is not infected with some toxin -- frankly I don't have the time to do that I trust my government to establish and enforce those standards so me and mine don't die horrible deaths because we had a salad. Is that socialist control of production. No.

Healthy capitalism exists only under regulation, we have proven that by getting rid of Glass Segal. It is a muddle but we are far from a socialist society.. As a matter of fact the more socialist societies are happier and more secure that we are. Germany Finland Denmark for example.

Complex societies are a complex melding of public and private. The teapublicans would have you think that it is a simple black and white problem.
