Foreclosure abuse rampant across U.S., experts say

Apparently, a major player was Countrywide Financial.

Yes, they were bad. So was Ameriquest, and Taylor, Bean & Whitaker. All criminal mortgage brokerage operations. None of which were banks.

Bank of America has the unfortunate task of cleaning up the mortgage mess at Countrywide. The Countrywide acquisition is the single reason why Bank of America's stock has taken such a beating the past year.
