You do not have to sell your photos to be a pro, you just have to make the majority of your living from photography.

Thanks , ive been having real problems getting good long exposure shots like yours. One of the main reasons i bought a canon 550d was to have a go at these kind of pics. Most of the time they are ending up over exposed and ive been basically using the same settings as you. The only difference is im not using a filter of any kind.

Yeah, filters are pretty important, they allow for longer shutter speeds when it is daylight. I have a couple, but my favorite to shoot with is my variable one. It goes from 2 stops to eight stops blocking out almost all light allowing up to a 20 sexing exposure in daytime.

They are a little more expensive at about $400 but well worth it. If the money isn't there the 0.6 is useful as well as the 2. It will not allow a long exposure like 5 seconds while shooting into the sun but it will provide nice effects.

Just remember to take a lot of pictures and to experiment a lot. I have a bunch of experimental photos that are a blast, I just posted one of my daughter levitating in another thread.

Gorgeous pictures, all very desktop background worthy. My favorite is the purple sky one. Thank you so much for sharing!

Here are some pics I took recently. All with my blackberry and compressed here for size, so not the best quality, but still nice pics in my opinion.

Really like this one. Unfortunately the photo doesn't do it justice.

Early last week Saturday Morning, after some snow.

The following 3 were all taken early yesterday morning..... place looked amazing!
