The solar system is about to enter a cosmic event that occurs only once every 26,000 years (6 a.m., EST, Dec. 21, 2012.) Addiitionally, several near misses of asteroids and comets will occur between now and then, the first large one due in 2006.
And according to the Science Channel, Yellowstone National Park, sitting atop the world's largest volcano in history, is expected to blow anytime beginning now. (Did anyone tell you that the last time you visited Yellowstone?) That fact is also on the website named above.
