Dehumanization of the "enemy" through propaganda. As usual, the most ignorant, fearful and cowardly of peasants eat it up. Gooks, krauts, japs, ruskies, towelheads, muzzies, etc. The masses eat it right up while tying yellow ribbons around their trees. Played by corporations and their stooges to support and/or die for their profit margin. War is a racket and the willfully ignorant are its tool.

Another quality thread! S&F! Thank you.

I just can't help myself to say that you are winner of the week. Bad one.
You are just a man, not American. When you think you are american or phantomjack, well, you are just that - ignorant. I think your views are very stupid and corrupted and I feel sorry for you. Not much, just a little, i care for you like you care for muslims.

It is interesting to me how all your arguments are about 100% opposite to mine. And when I read your missleads and lies, and the way you think, it is just not right.

Americans & Muslims = humans

To those who say American or Muslim, well I just think of one thing now:
Your time passed, or it is passing.
And Im happy about that very much yes.

I think people more and more start to realize that being American or Muslim, or Christian or German is just a waste of life and waste of time. There is absolutely nothing good in being American or Muslim, and being proud of that.

If anything, you should be ashamed to willingly call yourself American or Muslim, when you know, I know, your mother know, your father know, animals know, plants know, everybody know that you are just a human.

Stop wasting your life on spreading hate you "proud American" brainwashed human.

Proud to be American/Muslim.. gzz wonder how would you explain that to extraterrestrial?
You cant imagine how stupid that sounds. And you know why?

You are proud just to yourself. To whom else can you be proud to be American/Muslim? It is just about ego, ans selfishness. Do you need to be Einstein to find this on your own?

Well, thank goodness we are on the opposite sides of the spectrum.

While you have a right to your opinion, your rambling fell apart at around the 4th paragraph of your diatribe.

First, AMERICAN/MUSLIM -- comparing nationalism to religion. You apparently don't know the difference between the two.

To suggest that I am human, and everyone knows it -- is that like, what, First Grade playground argument?

You apparently are a socialist/utopian. Again, you have a right to your opinion. But you are obviously not from America, therefore, you have no sense of national pride.

You hate your existence, you hate your surroundings. Therefore, you are CONSUMED by hatred and have no idea what it means to be prideful.

Dont lecture me, my friend, for points. You can not destroy my pride or my ego, both of which are HUMAN traits.

So I have been around their culture pretty much all my life and have witnessed a lot of bigotry and hatred sent their way. It's been sad to see. They consider themselves Americans first and are just as proud & patriotic as anybody. He works in the Department of Corrections and his sister was in the Navy & currently works in Washington DC.

I find it great that you have a muslim friend, and also that you have chosen a new religion. That is your right.

But the question is, how will you think about Infidels once you convert? Just an honest, curious question.

Your post is ant-freedom of of speech, using "politically correct" logic to discourage people from criticizing Muslims.

Where has there been any critical analysis of the "Arab Spring" and how it has brought about attacks against and killing of minorities in Egypt, Libya, and Syria?

How does the protest against an mosque near Ground Zero in New York, where a Greek Orthodox Church has not been allowed to rebuild, compare with the bombing and burning of churches by Muslims in the Middle East and where Coptic Christian protests against the attacks get fired on by state security officers, with no government investigations?

Muslims should repent from their evil ways, if they don't like criticism rather the calling it hate speech or Muslim bashing!

Because of our war in iraq in 1991 and our support for dictators in the middle east and our killing in the middle east and our occupation of muslim lands.

Which of the 911 hijackers were Iraqi?

Precisely WHAT "killing in the middle east"? It would of necessity predate the current round of wars, if it is to be considered the cause, and is redundant to the first listed cause if you are referring to Gulf War I.

Precisely WHAT "occupation of muslim lands"? Again, this would of necessity pre-date the attacks in order to be considered a cause of them.

Here is a better question: Which of the 9-11 hijackers were Muslim? Hmmm????

sounds like ferumbra is getting the hang of the hating thing.....lol

Isn't it funny how those who preach love and tolerance, the usual moral squad, get their panties in a bunch when someone doesn't agree with their them.

Freedom, tolerance - hardly. (and they just HATE to be called on it)

Amen, Brother.

Its a type of hysteria that simply can not be explained or defined. He is "opposite" of me -- how does that happen? Does that mean he is insane as I am certainly a well leveled thinking individual. I practice and teach tolerance with my children. Even as difficult as it is at times.

But to allow a group of individuals like radical muslims to simply hide behind a veil is simply difficult to tolerate.

Do I dislike muslims? Nope. I am half arabic. My roots are from Damascus. Am I a Christian? By definition, I guess yes. Do I believe in Jesus Christ? No. Was he a man? Yes. I have read many books of their respective religions, and respect them for the works of literature that they are. I do not need to turn the page of a book to find myself.

The supreme architect of the universe is all that is necessary for me to believe. Those who practice religion, and need it to survive, I feel sorry for in a way.

What this planet needs is some sort of unification of all religions in order to end wars.

Haha..these are the kinds of threads I love to show my Arabic-Muslim husband.

As I sit here, NOT dressed in a hijab or burka, and read these posts, we just laugh.
He said in all of his years being raised in a Muslim country, he never saw anyone call any Westerner a dog, infidel or Great Satan. In fact, it was always his (and many of their) dreams to become American.

The term "infidel" was from olden times merely to distinguish Non-Muslim from Muslim.

People really should stop getting their news from American MSM.

Well either you or your husband are lying - because Islam is all about the 'olden times' - that is the whole point of Islam - it is not supposed to change ever, it is ludicrously supposed to be the complete, perfect final and eternal truth for all time! - approx 80% of Islamic writings deal with infidels, kuffars, unbelievers, polytheists etc in which the world is divided into the house of peace (islam) and the house of war (all infidel lands) and infidel is meant in the most derogagatory manner as someone whom allah hates, impure, unclean, fit only for hell, worthless etc etc!

- which is why whenever you get change from a muslim shopkeeper, they always try to spill the change into your hand without touching it - because you are in their eyes a filthy impure kaffir!

When I came to this website, and saw that it was closely moderated, I was optimistic. I signed up because I had this crazy notion in my head that hate-baiting, trolling hypocrites and bigots would avoid ATS if they couldn't get their filth to stick.

Unfortunately, after reading the responses to this thread, as well as the ones in the closed thread linked in the OP, my optimism is squashed once again. I long for a community of reasonable, logical thinkers to associate with, and I have come to the conclusion that if they exist on the internet, they must be silent lurkers because all I see here is cognitive bias, propaganda and ego

If you think you can gauge a person's intrinsic value by their outer appearance or the culture they were raised in, no amount of rattling off facts or linking to Wikipedia will give you credibility

With all due respect to the site owners and mods, and all the smart, decent human beings who seem to be keeping their thoughts to themselves, I can't justify continuing to engage in dialogue here... there will always be some anonymous Mr. John Off derailing, baiting, or worse. It's just not worth it

ATS, I barely knew ye

Muslims were flying the planes on 9.11 because we were bombing them for decades, what did you expect a flying spaghetti monster to attack us?

No they weren't! Those particular Muslims were flying those planes in an effort to kill as many Americans as they possibly could! Not because of bombs, but because of their hatred!

Bombing them for decades my ass! They've been attacking US citizens overseas for more than two centuries, and have been trying to attack us here at home for more than two decades. Unfortunately they succeeded at least twice, not so much because of intelligence failures, but because of the foolishness of those that keep repeating: "They would never do such a thing." or "Islam is a religion of peace."

Let me ask you this:
How in the hell could a religion of peace embrace a concept of Jihad? I see that as a HUGE contradiction.

Or is bush fox news's fault?

Nope! Mr. Bush was my fault. I voted for him both terms. I didn't agree with everything done during his two terms, but considering what we have now... I certainly have no regrets... and Mr. Obama has made me miss him dearly.

So you are saying it is ok to make that effigy because the 9.11 people were muslims.

Effigies are covered by "freedom of expression" which is protected as "freedom of speech". Of course it's OK! I'm forced to tolerate it, so they should be too! Isn't this all about equal treatment?

Unfortunately for these scared users , they don't seem to be aware of the ongoing de-humanisation effords of a large segment of humanity .

I've had the unique privilege of having a Muslim best friend

What the hell is unique about that?

I enjoy the privilege of having befriended many people of many faiths and nationalities. Even that is not unique! Many
people enjoy that privilege in the United States! That's one of the things that make this country so great!

See ya,
